དེ་ཡང་ངུས་ནས་འཕགས་མ་སྦོམ་དགའ་མོ་བདག་ནི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྐྱེས་བུས་ཁྲིད་དོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། དེ་མྱུར་བར་བརྒྱུགས་ནས་བུ་ཟན་མོའི་བུ་འདི་དག་བདག་གི་བུ་མོ་འདི་གར་བཀྲི། དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཅི་འཕགས་མ་ཡང་སྨད་འཚོང་མ་སྤྱོད་དམ། དགྲ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གཉའ་བར་རྡོག་པས་མནན་ལ་བྱེད་དོ། །ཅི་འཕགས་མ་ལ་ཡང་དགྲ་ཡོད་དམ། ངའི་བུ་མོ་ཁྲིད་པས་ན་ཁྱོད་ཉིད་དགྲའི་ནང་ན་ཆེན་པོ་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེ་དག་འཐབ་པ་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དག་གིས་མཐོང་ནས། དེ་དག་གིས་ཀྱེ་ཅི་ཞིག་ཅེས་དྲིས་པ་དང་། དེས་ཇི་ལྟར་གྱུར་པ་ཞིབ་ཏུ་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། དེ་དག་འཕྱ་ཞིང་སྨོད་ངན་དུ་འཛེར་ཏེ། ཤཱཀྱའི་བུའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ནི་རབ་ཏུ་ཚིག་གོ །དགེ་སྦྱོང་དང་ཚངས་པ་ཡང་ཚིག་གོ །ད་ནི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་མགོ་རེག་མས་ཀྱང་སྨད་འཚོང་མ་ཡང་བྱེད་དོ་ཞེས་འཕྱའོ། ། དེ་ལྟར་གྱུར་པ་དགེ་སློང་དག་གིས་ཐོས་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ཞུས་པ་དང་། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དགོངས་པ། སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་ནི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་གི་ཚུལ་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཞིག་བྱས་སོ། །དེ་ལྟ་བས་ན་དགེ་སློང་མས་སྨད་འཚོང་མ་བྱེད་དུ་མི་གཞུག་པར་དགོངས་ནས། དགེ་སློང་དག་སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་དགེ་སྦྱོང་གི་ཚུལ་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཆེར་བྱས་པ་ལ་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་ཁྱིམ་བདག་རྣམས་འཕྱ་བ་དང་། སྨོད་པ་དང་། ངན་དུ་སྨྲ་བ་ནི་གནས་ཡིན་ཏེ། དེ་བས་ན་དགེ་སློང་མས་སྨད་ འཚོང་མ་བྱེད་དུ་མི་གཞུག་གོ །དགེ་སློང་མས་སྨད་འཚོང་མ་བྱེད་དུ་བཅུག་ན་ཉེས་པ་སྦོམ་པོར་འགྱུར་རོ། །གླེང་གཞི་ནི་མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་ན་སྟེ། དེ་ནས་སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་སྔ་དྲོའི་དུས་ན་ཤམ་ཐབས་དང་ཆོས་གོས་བགོས་ལྷུང་བཟེད་ཐོགས་ཏེ་མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པར་བསོད་སྙོམས་ལ་ཞུགས་སོ། །བསོད་སྙོམས་ཀྱི་ཕྱིར་ཞུགས་པ་དང་། བྲན་མོ་ཞིག་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་གོས་བཟང་། སྨད་གཡོགས་བཟང་། རྒྱན་བཟང་པོས་བརྒྱན་པ། དེས་མཐོང་ནས་ནུ་མོ་ཁྱོད་གོས་དང་རྒྱན་བཟང་པོ་གང་ནས་རྙེད་ཅེས་དྲིས་པ་དང་། དེས་འཕགས་མ་བདག་ནི་ལོགས་ཤིག་ན་སྨད་འཚོང་བས་ན་དེ་ནས་འདི་དག་རྙེད་དོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་ཐབས་དེ་ནི་ལེགས་སོ། །དེ་ལྟར་འགྱུར་རམ་མི་འགྱུར་བ་བལྟའོ་སྙམ་བསམས་ནས། དེ་ལ་དམིགས་ཤིང་དྲན་བཞིན་དུ་སོང་ནས་ཇི་ཙམ་ཞིག་ན། བུ་མོ་གོས་དྲི་མ་ཅན་ཁ་ཟས་མེད་པ་འགྲོས་ཀྱང་དལ་ནས་འགྲོ་ལ་བྱད་བཞིན་ནི་བཟང་བ་ཞིག་མཐོང་ནས་དེས་བུ་མོ་ཁྱོད་སུའི་ཞེས་དྲིས་པ་དང་། དེས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ནི་སུ་ཡང་མ་ཡིན་གྱི། གང་གིས་གོས་དང་ཟས་སྦྱིན་པ་དེའི་ལས་བྱེད་དོ། །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། བུ་མོ་དེ་ལྟར་ན་ལོགས་ཤིག་ན་སྨད་འཚོང་བ་ཅི་ཕྱིར་མི་བྱེད་ཅེས་བྱས་པ་དང་དེ་རྣ་བ་བཀག་སྟེ་འཕགས་མ་དེ་སྐད་མ་གསུང་ཤིག །མི་རིགས་པ་འདི་ལྟ་བུ་བདག་ཅག་གི་རིགས་ལ་སྔན་ཆད་སུས་ཀྱང་དེ་ལྟ་བུ་མ་བྱས་སོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། སྦོམ་དགའ་ མོས་བུ་མོ་བུད་མེད་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ནི་དེ་ཡིན་ཏེ། རྒྱལ་པོའི་བུ་མོ་ཡང་དེ་བཞིན། འདི་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་བྲམ་ཟེའི་བུ་མོ་ཡང་དེ་བཞིན་ཏེ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་རིགས་ཆེན་པོ་མང་པོ་དག་ ལས་ཀྱང་དེ་ལྟ་བུ་བྱུང་ན། བུད་མེད་ནི་སྐྱེས་པ་ལ་སེམས་ཏེ། བདག་གིས་ཀྱང་བྱ་བ་ཞིག་ན་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བས་མི་རུང་ངོ་ཞེས་ཟེར་ཞིང་དེ་དེས་བསླུས་པ་དང་། འཕགས་མ་དེ་ལྟར་ན་ལོགས་ཤིག་ན་སྨད་འཚོང་ཇི་ལྟར་བྱ། དེ་ལ་ཡོ་བྱད་མང་པོ་དག་དགོས་སོ། །དང་པོར་ནི་གོས་དང་རྒྱན་དགོས་སོ། །དེའི་འོག་ཏུ་སྦྲ་དང་། དྲ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་། ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པའི་སྐྱེས་པ་ཡང་གཞན་ལ། ཀྱལ་ཀ་བྱེད་པ་འོངས་ན་ཡང་གྲོགས་བྱ་དགོས། བདག་དང་སྐྱེས་པ་མང་པོ་དག་བསྡུ་ཞིང་མགུ་བར་བྱ་བའི་ཕྱིར་ཆང་དང་། དྲི་དང་། བྱུག་པ་དག་དགོས་སོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་དེ་ལྟར་ན་བདག་གིས་གོས་དང་ཟས་ལ་སོགས་ཏེ་ཐམས་ཅད་སྦྱར་གྱིས། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་རྙེད་པ་དེ་ཐམས་ཅད་ང་ལ་བྱིན་ཅིག་ཅེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། ལེགས་ཀྱིས་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སྦྱིན་ནོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་དེ་ཕྱིས་ནས་ཁྲུས་བྱས་ཏེ། གོས་དང་། རྒྱན་དང་དགོན་པ་ལ་གནས་པའི་ཡོ་བྱད་ལ་སོགས་པ་བྱིན་ནས་ཞག་ཉུང་ཟད་ཅིག་གི་བར་དུ་གསོས་ནས་སྦྲ་ཡང་བྱིན། ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པའི་སྐྱེས་པ་བྱིན་ནས་ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པའི་མི་དང་འགྲོགས་ཏེ། དགོན་པ་ལ་སོང་ནས་ལོགས་ཤིག་ན་སྨད་འཚོང་བ་ལ་ཞུགས་པ་དང་། ཇི་ཙམ་ཞིག་ནས་བསེལ་པས་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཁྲིད་པ་དང་། སྦོམ་དགའ་མོ་ལ་སྦྲན་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་སྦོམ་དགའ་མོས་རིངས་པར་མྱུར་བར་སོང་ནས་བརྒྱུགས་ཏེ། བུ་ཟན་མོའི་བུ་དག་བདག་གི་བུ་མོ་གར་བཀྲི་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། དེ་དག་གིས་འཕགས་མ་ཅི་ཁྱོད་ཀྱང་ལོགས་ཤིག་ན་སྨད་འཚོང་བ་བྱེད་དམ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། དགྲའི་གཉའ་བར་རྡོག་པས་མནན་ལ་བྱེད་དུ་གཞུག་གོ །འཕགས་མ་ཅི་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཡང་དགྲ་ཡོད་དམ། བདག་གི་བུ་མོ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཁྲིད་པས་ན་བདག་གི་དགྲ་ ཆེན་པོ་ཁྱོད་ཉིད་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེ་དག་འཐབ་མོ་བྱེད་པ་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་། 如是而行。名为婆罗门之女亦如是。种姓高贵者亦多如是行，女人虽对男子有情，然我若不剃度，如是行事则不乐，如是说已，彼以是欺骗而说，圣母亦行淫耶？圣母若行淫，则亦需多物，需多男子聚集之广大房屋，及衣、饰、涂香、饮食等。 丰喜母女如是，我若尽施一切，汝若尽予我所得，则我供汝饮食衣服等，如是说已，彼圣母善哉亦如是说，尽施所得。丰喜于夏屋附近建其房屋，如其所说而施予，彼后洗浴，施予美好衣服饰品，经多日装扮，彼身形年少美丽，作淫女之形而住。为烦恼所逼，一切亦集于彼。 彼为另一淫女所见，生嫉妒而不能忍。丰喜所得甚多。其后某时，王宫中有大节日，需多香，国王之人为求香故，聚集一切淫女，彼等嫉妒，对国王之人说，于夏屋旁，丰喜之淫女亦引之。彼等捉彼而引之，彼哭泣而说，圣母丰喜，我为国王之人所引。彼速奔而说，此等食子者，汝等引我女至何处？彼等说，圣母亦行淫耶？以足践踏于敌之颈上。圣母亦有敌耶？引我女故，汝即为敌中之大者。彼等争斗，婆罗门及居士等见已，

If the Holy Mother engages in prostitution, then many things are also needed, a large house where many men gather, and clothes, ornaments, perfumes, food, and drink, etc. If the mother and daughter of Pūrṇānandā are like this, if I give everything, and you give me all that you earn, then I will provide you with food and clothing, etc., having said so, the Holy Mother Sudarśanā also said, I will give all that I earn. Pūrṇānandā built her house near the summer house, and gave as she said, after which she bathed, gave beautiful clothes and ornaments, and after dressing up for many days, she, with her youthful and beautiful figure, lived as a prostitute. Tormented by afflictions, all also gathered there. She was seen by another prostitute, who became jealous and could not bear it. Pūrṇānandā earned a lot. Later, at some time, there was a great festival in the royal palace, and much incense was needed, and the king's men, seeking incense, gathered all the prostitutes, and they, out of jealousy, said to the king's men, near the summer house, the prostitute of Pūrṇānandā, also bring her. They seized her and led her away, and she cried and said, Holy Mother Pūrṇānandā, I am being led away by the king's men. She ran quickly and said, you eaters of children, where are you taking my daughter? They said, does the Holy Mother also engage in prostitution? Trampling the necks of enemies with feet. Upon being asked, "What is this?" the person recounted the details of what had transpired. They mocked and reviled, exclaiming, "The ascetics, the sons of Shakya, are utterly disgraceful! The ascetics and those practicing brahmacharya are also disgraceful! Now, even the shaven-headed nuns are engaging in prostitution!" Having heard of this, the monks reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One considered, "Bhadda-kāpilānī has acted in a manner unbecoming of an ascetic." Therefore, resolving that nuns should not be allowed to engage in prostitution, the Blessed One addressed the monks, "It is fitting that the Brahmins and householders revile, reproach, and speak ill of Bhadda-kāpilānī for her greatly improper conduct as an ascetic. Therefore, nuns should not be allowed to engage in prostitution. If a nun were to engage in prostitution, it would constitute a grave offense." The origin of this matter lies in Savatthi. At that time, Bhadda-kāpilānī, in the morning, having put on her robes and taken up her bowl, entered Savatthi for alms. While going for alms, she saw a maidservant adorned with fine clothes, a beautiful lower garment, and exquisite jewelry. Upon seeing her, she asked, "Sister, where did you obtain such fine clothes and jewelry?" The maidservant replied, "Reverend Mother, I work as a prostitute elsewhere, and that is how I obtained these things." Bhadda-kāpilānī thought, "That is a good method! I shall see if it will work or not." Keeping this in mind, she continued on her way, and after a while, she saw a girl with dirty clothes, lacking food, walking slowly, but with a beautiful face. She asked, "Girl, who do you belong to?" The girl replied, "I do not belong to anyone. I work for whoever gives me clothes and food." She said, "Girl, if that is the case, why don't you work as a prostitute elsewhere?" The girl covered her ears and said, "Reverend Mother, do not speak such words! No one in our family has ever done such an indecent thing before." Bhadda-kāpilānī said, "Girl, that is the nature of women! Now this bald-headed renunciate is actually prostituting herself elsewhere, they mocked. When the monks heard about this, they reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One, considering that the bhikkhuni Sbom-ga'mo had done many things that were not appropriate for a renunciate, therefore admonished the bhikkhunis not to prostitute themselves elsewhere.
