When the fundamental precepts were first established, women should study them for as long as they live. Bhikshunis should seek instructions on the teachings from bhikshus every half month. The Blessed One, by the name "this name," established two fundamental precepts to prohibit women and not to be transgressed, and women should study them for as long as they live. In a place without bhikshus, bhikshunis should not enter the summer retreat. The Blessed One, by the name "this name," established three fundamental precepts to prohibit women and not to be transgressed, and women should study them for as long as they live. When a bhikshuni emerges from the summer retreat, she should confess to the two sangha groups regarding the three matters of seeing, hearing, and suspicion. The Blessed One, by the name "this name," established four fundamental precepts to prohibit women and not to be transgressed, and women should study them for as long as they live. Bhikshunis should not speak of a bhikshu's decline in discipline, decline in views, decline in conduct, or decline in livelihood. Do not remember. It is not permitted for bhikshunis to speak of or remember a bhikshu's decline in discipline, decline in views, decline in conduct, or decline in livelihood. It is permitted for bhikshus to speak of and remember a bhikshuni's decline in discipline, decline in views, decline in conduct, or decline in livelihood. The Blessed One, by the name "this name," established five fundamental precepts to prohibit women and not to be transgressed, and women should study them for as long as they live. Bhikshunis should not speak badly to bhikshus, should not be angry, and should not threaten. Bhikshunis are not allowed to speak badly to, be angry with, or threaten bhikshus. The Blessed One, by the name "this name," established six fundamental precepts to prohibit women and not to be transgressed, and women should study them for as long as they live. If a bhikshuni commits a fundamental precept, she should confess to both sangha groups for half a month.

Practice this. So-and-so by name, the Bhagavan established these seven weighty dharmas to prevent women from transgressing. Women should train in these as long as they live. A fully ordained nun who is a hundred years old should now address a newly ordained nun with pleasant words, praise, stand up, join her palms, and pay homage. So-and-so by name, the Bhagavan established these eight weighty dharmas to prevent women from transgressing. Women should train in these as long as they live. Do you uphold and practice these eight weighty dharmas correctly? I do. So-and-so by name, listen to me. These four things spoken by the Bhagavan are the same as before, and should be practiced until the fully enlightened Buddha knows them. What are the four? From now on, so-and-so by name, you will not speak back to harsh words, you will not be angry back to anger, you will not strike back to striking, you will not slander back to slander. So-and-so by name, listen to me. You previously wished, "May I go forth and be fully ordained in the well-spoken Dharma-Vinaya and become a nun." Now you have gone forth and been fully ordained. With an abbess who is endowed with morality, a preceptor who is endowed with morality, and the assembly of both sanghas gathered, through the act of request and four karmas, without anything to be done or placed aside, you have gone forth and been fully ordained. So-and-so by name, listen to me. Whatever a nun who has been fully ordained for a hundred years learns, a newly fully ordained nun should also learn from her. Whatever a newly fully ordained nun learns, a nun who has been fully ordained for a hundred years should also learn. From now on, you should please those who are equal in precepts, who are similar in learning, and who are equal in reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra. You should not displease them. From now on, so-and-so by name, you should regard the abbess as your mother, and the abbess should regard her as her daughter. From now on, you should honor and serve the abbess for as long as you live, and the abbess should you.
