They said that the stones in our house float and walk on water, and they said that we have never seen or heard of stones floating and walking on water. Then they bet five hundred gold coins with him. Then the young man asked his father, "What happened, and why are they betting with me?" His father said, "Son, don't show them." Then they came, and he didn't show them, and he lost five hundred gold coins. Then, the great physician caught the monkeys, taught them to play music, and said to his son, "Now go, go to those who gather often, chat as before, and then you say what you have seen, what you have heard, and what strange things there are in the house. Then you make them bet double the money with me, and you say, 'There are monkeys who play music in my house, they are good at singing, good at dancing, and good at drumming.'" He instructed him like this. He also, like this, told other things, saying, "I have seen such things." Then they said, "We J01,Vo11,Po79B have never seen or heard of monkeys playing music." He said, "If I show you, what will you give me?" They said, "You have already won five hundred gold coins before. Now it's the same, they say don't be unreasonable. If you don't show them, you will lose a thousand gold coins. If you show them, we will give you." After they agreed like this, they took the monkeys to the king's palace. He also drove the monkeys to the king's palace, and in front of the king, he showed them singing, dancing, and drumming. Then they gave him a thousand gold coins. The king also found it very strange, saying, "Such things have never been seen or heard before." Then the king, ministers, and villagers all said, "Look, everyone should look, only he is both clever and wise." Everyone respected the great physician. Then, there was a Brahmin living in the place of Bedha, who took a wife from the same caste as himself. He enjoyed all kinds of entertainment with her, and later, that Brahmin woman became pregnant, and after nine months, she gave birth to a daughter.

I am a woman with a beautiful figure and an outstanding appearance. That Brahmin had also mastered speech and its branches, was proficient in the eighteen fields of knowledge, and was sharp-witted. He thought: 'Whomever can become like me, studying and reciting in my presence, I will give this daughter to him.' After holding a grand birth celebration, they discussed what name to give the child. So, they named the girl Udumbarika. She was raised and grew up to be graceful. Later, another Brahmin had a son who was ugly in complexion, unattractive in appearance, unpleasant in color, and possessed eighteen bad omens. As soon as he was born, his parents, because he was so ugly and repulsive, named him Ugly. He was raised and grew up. The father, ashamed of his son, thought: 'What good is it to teach someone as ugly as this?' So he did not teach him. Later, when that ugly boy grew up, wanting to learn, the father thought: 'I haven't taught him, he will go to other places.' So, he went to another Brahmin. That Brahmin boy stood up and said: 'I am the son of this Brahmin, and I have come before you to learn from you.' That Brahmin also agreed and allowed him to learn. Before long, that ugly person also learned everything that the Brahmin knew. After that, that teacher thought: 'I had vowed to give my daughter Udumbarika to the one who studies with me and whose knowledge is the same as mine. Now, this ugly Brahmin has studied with me, and his knowledge is also the same as mine. Although he is ugly, I cannot do otherwise, and marrying him would be inappropriate for me and my ancestors in this world. Other Brahmins will also ridicule me, but I must act according to my vow.' So, he had his daughter Udumbarika adorned with all her ornaments, and then gave her to the ugly Brahmin boy. He accepted her, but did not dare to enjoy happiness with her. After that, he thought: 'I will return to my own home and enjoy happiness there,' and so he returned to his own home.
