He was deceived in various ways, saying, "This is true, the others are foolish." Then, out of shame, he lowered his head, and because he was burned by the fire of sorrow, he wanted cool water, so he went to the pond. Then, on the way, a hermaphrodite saw him, and that person said in verse: Like a bull with a broken horn, Where are you rushing to, you who are listless? Because you do not fully understand the teachings of Shakya, You wander around shamelessly like a donkey. That person also said in verse: Death stands before me, My body has no strength or diligence. All things depend on happiness and suffering, After liberation, I will go to make happiness. By those who make the sun shine intensely, Body and mind are all scorched and tired. Please tell me quickly, where is that cool pond? That person also said in verse: You bad man, sinful, not a noble being, Have you not seen the pond that is like a lake, possessing lotuses and swans, and whose water is as pure as the water of a snow mountain? That person also said in verse: You are neither a man nor another's wife, Indicate the path with gestures, and in the pond filled with good water and cool water, I will go to cool my suffering. He departed from that path, and the one who was completing also went to the side of the pond, hung a vase filled with sand around his neck, and drowned there, and passed away immediately. Then, his students asked each other: Who among you saw the Khenpo (Master)? They said: We did not see him. Who among you received a prophecy from the Khenpo? Then, some said: O knowledgeable ones, the Khenpo prophesied to us that this world is eternal, and the others are foolish. Some said: He taught us that it is impermanent. Others said: He taught us that it is both eternal and impermanent, neither eternal nor impermanent. It is endless. It is finite. It is both finite and endless. It is neither finite nor endless. Similarly, after death there is existence. There is non-existence. There is both existence and existence, and there is neither non-existence nor non-existence. Similarly, after death there is existence and also non-existen

That which is neither existent nor non-existent is the truth, the rest is ignorance. They said: Wise ones, like this, because of various fabrications, we all become discordant, we should seek a Khenpo (abbot/preceptor) everywhere and ask what the reality is like. Thus they departed, and they saw a girl in the middle of the road, and they asked her in verses: The one who wears the Dharma robe, the ascetic who eats grass, the one who has passed away from here, virtuous woman, have you not seen him? She also replied in verses: A sentient being of evil destinies, a hell-dweller, the one who goes with outstretched hands, the one who has passed away is distracted by water, his hands and feet have turned gray. They again said in verses: The one who wears the Dharma robe, the capable one who practices the Dharma, what you have said is not good, virtuous woman, do not say such things. She also said in verses: The one who is born with the mark of a male organ, the wise one, in this world, is always seen by the world, wandering naked in the village. The one who judges in front of the male organ, whose Dharma is like this, may he be cut down by the arrow or axe of King Vaishravana (Namthöse, the god of wealth). Having said this, they all remained silent and left, and they went to a pond, and after a while they saw the one who had passed away with a vase filled with sand hanging around his neck, having passed away. Those among them who wanted to learn all said: Wise ones, this is the truth, the rest is ignorance. They also hung vases filled with sand around their necks and passed away in that very place. The rest returned and went to live in the borderlands. When the Bhagavan, the unsurpassed tamer of beings, the unsurpassed wheel-turning king of unobstructed power, perfectly awakened to unsurpassed complete enlightenment, and turned the wheel of Dharma, all the heretics invited the supreme miracles of human Dharma, but all the heretics were completely defeated, turned their backs, and became without confidence. Thereafter, the border regions
