This is not a mound we built with our hands on the battlefield where we fought the rebels. He said: If this is not your work, then whose work is it? They said: It is the work of the people of the divine city and the villagers. He let them go and went to the villagers and the villagers and said: Wise ones, if I also make a mound, why don't you make a mound? They said: God, if we also participate, we will do it. So he arranged for them to make mounds regularly, and they took turns starting to make mounds. When it was the turn of a spice merchant's son, he was afraid that the king's brutality would kill him, so he was unhappy, with his hand on his cheek, lost in thought. A friend saw him lost in thought and said: Friend, why are you with your hand on your cheek, lost in thought? He then told what had happened. He had someone who took things from his house, and that person said to him: Friend, since you have someone who takes things from your house, why don't you let him replace you? He said: Friend, if he cherishes his life as much as I do, why would he accept my commission? The man said: Friend, give him some karshapanas (kārṣāpaṇa, Devanagari: कार्षापण, literal meaning: an ancient Indian monetary unit), and he will make a mound without hesitation. He then entrusted him with it. The man said: Give me five hundred karshapanas, and I will make a mound. He promised to give it to him, and the man said: Give me two hundred and fifty for now. Give me the rest if I come back alive. If not, do as you please. He said: Okay, let's do it that way. So he gave him two hundred and fifty karshapanas. He took the money and went to the street, where he bought a lot of meat, wine, and food. Then, he invited all the family members of the brutal King Rabnang to be guests, gave them food, and also let them drink as much wine as they wanted, and then said: Wise ones, if it is my turn to make a mound, please tell me how this king behaves. They then told him all about the king's behavior. He said: Wise ones, please remember the little things I have done.

They said: Holder of the Earth, have you forgotten the favor of the food and drink you received before? Tell us what to do! He said: If by chance I fall asleep while the king is inspecting the watchmen, please wake me up. They said: Okay, we'll do that. Then he wrapped himself in a grass mat and pretended to be on watch, but he fell fast asleep. After a while, the king, as usual, spent the first part of the night playing and having fun with his consorts, enjoying the pleasure. In the middle of the night, he watched the elephants and horses, and in the last part of the night, he began to inspect the watchmen. Those people woke up the Holder of the Earth, saying: Holder of the Earth, the god has descended, wake up! He quickly got up and sat down, wrapped in the grass mat as before. The king made a sound and asked: Who is on watch? The Holder of the Earth thought: If I only answer the first question and don't answer later, this king will surely think I am possessed by a demon, cut off my head and throw it on the ground. Thinking this, he sat there without saying a word. Twice the king made a sound and asked: Who is on watch? But he still sat there without saying a word. The third time, the king made a sound and asked: Who is on watch? He said: The Holder of the Earth is me. The king said: Holder of the Earth, what are you thinking about? Because he was cunning and proficient in worldly stories, he said: I am thinking about worldly principles. The intermediate verses are: Owl, crane, munjah bird, black burning object, water bottle, salt, flour, and the dead, pit, loom, pottery are sins. Holder of the Earth, what kind of worldly principles are you thinking about? The divine creature owl, with feathers and without feathers, if weighed on a scale, the weight is exactly the same, which is truly amazing! Holder of the Earth, is that really so? I will prove it before the gods. Holder of the Earth, very well. The next day, he brought an owl and, in front of the king, weighed it with its feathers, and then plucked its feathers and weighed it again, and the weight was exactly the same. The king said: Holder of the Earth, what is the reason for this? He said: The feathers of the divine being are for catching the air. The king said: Holder of the Earth, you are a clever man.
