When the Dharma wheel of twelve aspects was turned in accordance with the Dharma, the youth named Rab Snang was also enthroned as a great king. At that time, in the land of Arya, there was a king named Rab Snang, a king of Dharma, whose kingdom was prosperous, vast, peaceful, and had good harvests, with many people and a dense population. Strife, contention, conflict, and turmoil were completely pacified. There were no thieves or diseases, and there was an abundance of Sālu, sugarcane, and buffalo. He made them act in accordance with the Dharma, and therefore, he was always extremely joyful with celebrations. In that city of Arya, there were five faculties and five near faculties. From five hundred ponds, five hundred streams flowing from Vāṇa flowed into the place called "The King's Beautiful Palace." King Rab Snang had five excellent limbs: an elephant named Lotus Stalk Mountain, a female elephant named Good Fortune, a drum named Ocean Foot, a horse named Cloth Neck, and a messenger named Crow. Among them, Lotus Stalk Mountain could travel a hundred yojanas in a day and night, Good Fortune could travel eighty yojanas, Ocean Foot could travel seventy yojanas, Cloth Neck could travel fifty yojanas, and Crow could travel twenty yojanas. He possessed such abundant wealth, but he was afflicted with a disease called insomnia due to imbalance of the elements. That king hated butter and loved alcohol. Therefore, when the doctors tried to give him an enema with butter mixed with various medicinal ingredients, he could not drink it. When the queen's entourage, youths, ministers, and palace attendants tried to give him a butter enema, he became even more hateful of butter, and anyone who mentioned the name of butter, he would cut off their head and throw it on the ground. Due to insomnia, in the first watch of the night, he would enjoy joyful games with the queen's entourage. In the second watch, he would watch elephants and horses. In the third watch, he would ask the subjects, "Who is doing what now?" He would tolerate those who did not answer the first time, and he would tolerate those who did not answer the second time, but those who did not answer the third time, he would cut off their head and throw it on the ground.
