He began to look up and saw a young woman who considered herself very beautiful because of the distinction of her complexion and form. Driven by desire, she was glancing sideways from the balcony. Having seen her, his mind was filled with longing. He said, "If that is so, come out!" She said, "Oh, divine one, please come here yourself!" He, unable to resist his infatuation with her, descended from the elephant, entered her house, and indulged in pleasure with her, becoming agitated. Some wise women are naturally endowed with five uncommon qualities. What are these five? Knowing whether a man is attached or not, knowing the time, knowing whether one is menstruating, knowing whether one is pregnant, knowing from whom one is pregnant, and knowing whether it is a boy or a girl. She said to the king, "Oh, divine one, I have become pregnant." The king, having heard what had happened, gave her a string of pearls and said, "If you have a son, give him this string of pearls and send him to me. But if it is a daughter, she is yours."
