After raising the banner, a seat was laid out, and pure water was placed. They invited the Venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana, (saying) "Venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana, the parasol has been set up, now the time has come, please consider it." Thus, the time was fixed. The Venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana, in the morning, put on his Dharma robes and skirt, took his bowl, and surrounded by the community of monks, with the community of monks leading the way, went to where King Tumbo Rab Snang resided. Upon arriving, a seat was laid out in the middle of the community of monks, and (he) sat down. After he sat down, music was played, and the dancers began to perform various kinds of dances. The Venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana and the monks restrained their senses and sat still. After the singing, dancing, and music subsided, King Tumbo Rab Snang said: "Venerable, is the dancing good? Is the singing pleasant?" The Venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana said: "Great King, it is so for those who hear or see." He said: "Venerable, if those who have restrained their senses are allowed not to see, how could they not hear?" He said: "Deity, do you have any matters involving killing people?" "Venerable, if there are, what of it?" "Deity, put a container filled with sesame oil in that person's hand, and then send an executioner after him, saying to him: 'Hey, you come here! Take this container filled with sesame oil, which a crow can drink, go around all the good places, and then bring it back here! If even one drop of sesame oil falls on the ground, then this man, brandishing his sword, will cut off your head from your neck and throw it on the ground!' After giving this order, play various kinds of music in front of him, and let him perform various kinds of dances. Then you will be convinced."
