Therefore, by our power, the plague has been half subsided, and before long, everything will be completely calmed. The monks said to the fierce King Rab Snang, "May you be free from illness," and then left without saying a word. The king said to the ministers: "Wise ones, the gatekeeper said that a practitioner who has never appeared before, holding the symbols and attire of a god, has come here with five hundred attendants. As soon as he arrived, the plague was half subsided." The Brahmins said, "Gods, we have been diligently engaged in the work of pacification to protect the signs, therefore, by our power, the plague has been half subsided." Since it is not known whose power it is, then today, give those practitioners and Brahmins inferior rice and coarse food in the unclean place of elephant dung, and after they have eaten and come out, ask them what kind of food they have eaten. The ministers said, "According to the will of God." Then, according to the instructions, the ministers laid out seats in the unclean place of elephant dung, gave food to the practitioners and Brahmins, and after they had eaten and come out, the gatekeeper asked the Brahmins: "Great Brahmins, what kind of food did the gods use to satisfy you?" They said angrily: "The actions and the king are all inclined to things that are not in accordance with the Dharma. He gave the Brahmins unclean rice, two-pronged beans, and coarse food to satisfy them." They sat without saying a word. After they left, they asked the monks: "Holy ones, what kind of food did the gods use to satisfy you?" They said: "The one with a beautiful face gave alms, and the recipients ate, fulfilling the four great elements and obtaining daily sustenance." The gatekeeper said to the king: "God, the Brahmins said this, and the monks said this." The king instructed the ministers: "Wise ones, today, now give both of them fine food in a clean place outside of the elephant dung, and ask them in the same way." They laid out seats in a clean place outside of the elephant dung and satisfied them with fine food.

If it is done that way, the gatekeeper also asked in the same way, and the Brahmins said: The method is the same as the king and royal family being crowned from the head, giving whatever food they want and satisfying them. Therefore, the Brahmins said, this palace of the king, because of the dispute in Kausambi, sometimes becomes bad, sometimes becomes good, please do not laugh at me. They stayed without saying anything. They asked the monks from the cave, and they said the same as before. The gatekeeper also said the same to the king. Just like the dung of an elephant, the dung of a horse and the pile of rags, and the clean places, the bad and the good were mixed together. King Tumporab Snang thought: The monks are the place of alms, the Brahmins are not. After thinking this, he developed faith and went to the Venerable Katyayana's great son Galava, and when he arrived, he bowed his head to the feet of the Venerable Katyayana's great son, and then sat on one side. After sitting on one side, the Venerable Katyayana's great son truly showed King Tumporab Snang with words corresponding to the Dharma, made him truly receive it, truly praised him, truly rejoiced him, and in many ways, with words corresponding to the Dharma, truly taught him, truly made him receive it, truly praised him, truly made him rejoice, and then remained silent. Then, King Tumporab Snang rose from his seat, bared one shoulder of his upper garment, and towards the direction where the Venerable Katyayana's great son was, folded his palms respectfully and said to the Venerable Katyayana's great son: Venerable Katyayana's great son, would you allow me to offer alms in my garden tomorrow with the Sangha of monks? The Venerable Katyayana's great son did not say anything to King Tumporab Snang, indicating permission. Then, King Tumporab Snang realized that the Venerable Katyayana's great son had silently agreed, so he bowed his head to the feet of the Venerable Katyayana's great son, and then rose from his seat and left. Then, King Tumporab Snang prepared clean and wonderful food and drinks that night. The next morning
