However, if these are renunciates, what conflict is there in this? When they were sitting without saying a word, the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One taught: One should not sit on the same seat with one who has not taken full ordination. After the Blessed One taught that one should not sit on the same seat with one who has not taken full ordination, when those older monks were sitting on the same seat with younger monks, the younger monks were disrespectful to the older monks, the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One taught: Older and younger should not sit on the same seat, but one may sit on the same seat with one who is three years apart in age. Those who are less than one year old and those who are three years old may also sit together, and those who are one year old and those who are four years old, up to those who are nine years old and those who are twelve years old, may also sit together. The Blessed One taught that one may sit on the same seat with one who is three years apart in age. Those who are less than one year old and those who are three years old may also sit together, and those who are one year old and those who are four years old, up to those who are nine years old and those who are twelve years old, may also sit together. After the Blessed One taught that one may sit on the same seat with one who is three years apart in age, the monks also did not sit with those who were three years apart in age in their homes, so they did not get seats. The Blessed One taught: In the home, one may sit with the teachers and preceptors, and one should not regret this. Summary: Whether to give a cloth covering or not, A novice should not lie, One should not swear or set up a stake, One should not eat tiger meat. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Garden of Anathapindika. The Blessed One taught that seats should be prepared for listening to the Dharma, and the novices also sat on seats with cloth coverings to listen to the Dharma. They fell asleep and immediately urinated and defecated, and those seats with cloth coverings became unsuitable.

At that time, the monks petitioned the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: "Do not give a novice a seat with a cushion." After the Blessed One declared that a novice should not be given a seat with a cushion, a novice of the Venerable Shariputra named Skul-byed went to listen to the Dharma. The monks gave him a bare seat, and he said: "Venerable ones, why do you give me a bare seat?" They said: "The Blessed One has forbidden novices to have seats with cushions." He said: "Venerable ones, am I also committing that offense?" At that time, the monks petitioned the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: "Those novices who are mindful and abide, they should be given seats with cushions, but not to others." The origin of the story is in Shravasti. A monk had a novice who was severely reprimanded by him, and he was crying at the gate of Jeta Grove. Since any one of the Group of Six would not leave the gate of Jeta Grove empty, the Venerable Ananda saw him at the gate and said to him: "Novice, why are you crying?" He said: "Venerable Ananda, I have been severely reprimanded by my preceptor." "Child, come here, I will make sure that your bowl, Dharma robes, net, bowl, belt, and whatever you lack will not be lacking," and he led him to his dwelling. The Blessed One declared: "One should not abandon someone who has been severely reprimanded, but should persuade them to return." So that monk sent a monk to that novice, and that monk said to him, and he said: "What need do I have for a preceptor? Ananda has provided all my necessities, I will not go." That monk ridiculed, mocked, and reviled, saying: "The novice I ordained has been seduced by Ananda." At that time, the monks petitioned the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: "A monk should not entice away another's novice; if he does, he commits a grave offense close to expulsion." The origin of the story is in Shravasti. The Group of Six.

Wherever it was necessary to take an oath, they would take it. They would take oaths to the Buddha, to the Dharma and the Sangha, and to the teachers and preceptors. The Brahmins and faithful householders said: 'Teachers, even though we are householders, we would not take oaths to the teacher. Since you are renunciates, how can you take oaths to the teacher? This is not appropriate.' When they remained silent, the monks reported this to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: 'Monks, the criticism of the Brahmins and faithful householders is justified. A renunciate should have truthful intentions. Therefore, a monk should not take oaths. If a monk takes an oath, he will commit a serious offense.' The origin of the story is in Shravasti. The group of six monks, wherever they needed to, would use their alms bowls, robes, nets, bowls, belts, and any other ascetic's belongings as stakes. The Brahmins and householders saw this and criticized them, saying: 'Venerable ones, why do you use alms bowls and other belongings as stakes, just like householders? This is not appropriate.' They said: 'Have you eaten garlic? Have you drunk alcohol? What is inappropriate about this?' When they remained silent, the monks reported this to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: 'Monks, the criticism of the Brahmins and householders is justified. Therefore, a monk should not set up stakes. If a monk sets up stakes, he will commit a serious offense.' The origin of the story is in Shravasti. The daily practice of the group of six monks was to get up early in the morning, climb onto the roof, look in the four directions, and wherever they saw smoke rising or vultures circling, they would quickly take steps and go there. Once, Nanda got up early in the morning and started to climb onto the roof to look. He saw vultures circling and hurried there. When he saw that a tiger had hidden a piece of meat in a dense forest area, he was very happy, took the meat, and went to Jeta Grove, smelling the tiger's scent.
