便勒索说，如果现在不给，以后就那样做。那些六群比丘内部事先商量好，然后到那些人面前说：贤善者，暴徒，你们不给我们饭钱吗？那些人说：圣者，你们对我们有什么需求，为什么要给你们饭钱？六群比丘说：算了吧，然后就走了。他们按照事先商量好的那样，用狮子皮做了鞋子并分了，然后他们就在大象经常出没的牧场挖坑藏了起来。大象们闻到狮子的气味，吓得屎尿齐流，开始逃跑。驯象师们用铁钩无论如何也控制不住它们。六群比丘说：有寿者们，不要放开，不要放开！他们说：圣者，控制不住怎么能不放开？六群比丘说：我们来雇佣你们吧。他们说：圣者，如果那样做就太好了。有寿者们，如果你们答应给饭钱，我们就雇佣你们。圣者，我们很穷啊。他们说：确实如此。然后他们就挖坑藏在不是牧场的地方，大象们闻不到狮子的气味，就停了下来。驯象师们说：圣者，你们懂得咒语吗？贤善者，我们不懂咒语。圣者，如果那样，你们是怎么制止的？他们讲述了事情的经过。那些人说：你们竟然做了这样的损害。如果国王的珍贵大象，具有上等肢体的大象，逃到森林里，你们不是对国王犯了大错吗？他们只是笑了笑，一句话也没说。这时，比丘们向世尊禀告了这件事。世尊心想：出现了一些过失，是因为比丘们穿了狮子皮鞋子。因此，比丘不应该持有狮子皮鞋子。这样想着，世尊对比丘们说：比丘们，因此，比丘不应该持有狮子皮鞋子。比丘如果持有狮子皮鞋子，就犯了重罪。

Those six groups of monks discussed it internally beforehand, and then went to those people and said: 'Virtuous ones, you brutes, won't you give us the price of food?' Those people said: 'Venerable ones, what need do you have of us, why should we give you the price of food?' The six groups of monks said, 'Let it be,' and then left. As they had discussed beforehand, they made shoes out of lion skins and divided them, and then they dug holes and hid in the pasture where the elephants often roamed. The elephants smelled the scent of the lion, were frightened, and began to run away, losing urine and feces. The elephant tamers could not control them with their iron hooks no matter what. The six groups of monks said: 'Long-lived ones, don't let go, don't let go!' They said: 'Venerable ones, how can we not let go if we cannot control them?' The six groups of monks said: 'We will hire you.' They said: 'Venerable ones, if you do that, it would be very good.' 'Long-lived ones, if you promise to give the price of food, we will hire you.' 'Venerable ones, we are poor.' They said: 'That is true.' Then they dug holes and hid in a place that was not a pasture, and the elephants, not smelling the scent of the lion, stopped. The elephant tamers said: 'Venerable ones, do you know mantras?' 'Virtuous ones, we do not know mantras.' 'Venerable ones, if that is so, how did you stop them?' They told what had happened. Those people said: 'You have done such harm. If the king's precious elephant, an elephant with excellent limbs, were to escape into the forest, wouldn't you have committed a great offense against the king?' They just smiled and said nothing. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. The Blessed One thought: 'Some faults have occurred because the monks wore lion skin shoes. Therefore, monks should not possess lion skin shoes.' Thinking this, the Blessed One said to the monks: 'Monks, therefore, monks should not possess lion skin shoes. If a monk possesses lion skin shoes, he commits a serious offense.'

将要发生违犯。世尊说比丘不应穿狮子皮鞋之后，六众开始穿老虎皮鞋，众比丘向世尊禀告此事，世尊说：“因此，五种有爪和牙齿的动物，即象、马、狮子、老虎和熊的皮鞋不应穿。”世尊说不应穿五种有爪和牙齿的动物的皮鞋之后，具寿阿难陀问世尊：“尊者，还有其他有爪和牙齿的动物，是否也不应穿它们的皮鞋？”阿难陀，那些动物的皮鞋也不应穿，如果穿了，将会构成严重的违犯。故事的起因是在舍卫城（Shravasti）。在舍卫城，一位比丘患了痔疮，他去拜访医生并说：‘贤者，我患了痔疮，请给我一些药。’医生说：‘圣者，穿熊皮鞋，你就会痊愈。’他说：‘世尊不允许。’医生说：‘圣者，你的导师是慈悲的，他会允许的。’当时，众比丘向世尊禀告此事，世尊说：‘因此，允许患有痔疮的比丘穿熊皮鞋。’世尊说允许患有痔疮的比丘穿熊皮鞋之后，如果没有找到很多层皮，世尊说：‘如果找不到很多层皮，可以在上面缝一层粗布。’《毗奈耶杂事》之第五章完结。 第五小门，身体品类。

The bhikkhus reported this to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: "Therefore, the shoes made of the skins of the five animals with claws and teeth, namely elephants, horses, lions, tigers, and bears, should not be worn." After the Blessed One said that shoes made of the skins of the five animals with claws and teeth should not be worn, the venerable Ānanda asked the Blessed One: "Venerable, there are other animals with claws and teeth. Should shoes made of their skins also not be worn?" Ānanda, shoes made of the skins of those animals should also not be worn. If they are worn, it will constitute a serious transgression. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. In Shravasti, a bhikkhu who was afflicted with hemorrhoids went to visit a doctor and said: 'O good sir, I am afflicted with hemorrhoids, please give me some medicine.' The doctor said: 'O noble one, wear shoes made of bear skin, and you will be cured.' He said: 'The Blessed One does not allow it.' The doctor said: 'O noble one, your teacher is compassionate, so he will allow it.' At that time, the bhikkhus reported this to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: 'Therefore, I allow a bhikkhu who is afflicted with hemorrhoids to wear shoes made of bear skin.' After the Blessed One said that a bhikkhu who is afflicted with hemorrhoids should wear shoes made of bear skin, and if many layers of skin could not be found, the Blessed One said: 'If many layers of skin cannot be found, a layer of coarse cloth should be sewn on top.'
