་ཚལ་འདི་རི་མོ་མ་བྲིས་པས་མི་སྡུག་སྟེ། དེའི་སླད་དུ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་གནང་ན་བདག་གིས་འདི་རི་མོ་བྲི་བར་བགྱིའོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་ལྟ་བས་ན་གནང་གིས་རི་མོ་རིས་ཤིག །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་རི་མོ་རིས་ཤིག་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ནས། དེས་ཚོན་རྩི་དག་ཀྱང་བསོགས། རི་མོ་མཁན་རྣམས་ཀྱང་བོས་ཏེ་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་གནང་གིས། དེའི་ཕྱིར་ཚོན་རྩི་འདི་དག་གིས་རྒྱལ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཚལ་རི་མོ་རིས་ཤིག །དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་རི་མོ་བྲི་ན་ཕྱོགས་གང་དུ་ཅི་ཞིག་བྲི་བ་གསུང་ཤིག །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་བདག་གིས་མི་ཤེས་ཀྱིས་སྡོད་ཅིག་དང་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ཞུའོ། །དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་ལེགས་ཏེ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་མཛོད་ཅིག་དང་སྡོད་དོ། །དེ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་སྔར་སོང་ནས་ཞབས་ལ་མགོ་བོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ་གསོལ་པ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཚོན་རྩི་དག་ཀྱང་བསོགས། རི་མོ་མཁན་རྣམས་ཀྱང་བོས་ན་དེ་དག་གི་མཆིད་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་ཕྱོགས་གང་དུ་ཅི་ཞིག་བྲི་བ་སྨྲོས་ཤིག་ཅེས་མཆི་ན། དེའི་སླད་དུ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ཐུགས་བརྩེ་བ་ཉེ་བར་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཕྱོགས་གང་དུ་ཅི་ཞིག་བྲི་བ་བཀའ་སྩལ་དུ་གསོལ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་གལ་ཏེ་དེ་ལྟ་ན་སོང་ལ་རེ་ཞིག་ཕྱི་སྒོར་གནོད་སྦྱིན་ལག་ན་དབྱུག་ཐོགས་འདྲིར་བཅུག་ནས། སྒོ་ཁང་དུ་ནི་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་འཁོར་བའི་འཁོར་ལོ་ཆ་ལྔ་པ། ཁྱམས་སུ་ནི་སྐྱེས་པའི་རབས་ཀྱི་ཕྲེང་བ། དྲི་གཙང་ཁང་གི་སྒོར་ནི་གནོད་སྦྱིན་ལག་ན་ཕྲེང་བ་ཐོགས་པ་དག །རིམ་གྲོའི་ཁང་པར་ནི་དགེ་སློང་གནས་བརྟན་གནས་བརྟན་དག་ཆོས་རྣམ་པར་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས་པར་བྱེད་པ། བཀད་སར་ནི་གནོད་སྦྱིན་ལག་ན་ཟས་ཐོགས་པ་དག །མཛོད་ཀྱི་སྒོར་ནི་གནོད་སྦྱིན་ལག་ན་ལྕགས་ཀྱུ་ཐོགས་པ་དག །ཆུའི་ཁང་པར་ནི་ཀླུ་ལག་ན་བུམ་པ་ཐོགས་པ་རྒྱན་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་བརྒྱན་པ་དག །ཁྲུས་ཁང་ངམ། བསྲོ་གང་དུ་ནི་ལྷའི་མདོ་ལས་འབྱུང་བའམ། གཞན་དམྱལ་བའི་རབས། ནད་པའི་སྨན་ཁང་དུ་ནི་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་ནད་པའི་ནད་གཡོག་མཛད་པ། ཆབ་ཁུང་སར་ནི་དུར་ཁྲོད་ཤིན་ཏུ་འཇིགས་སུ་རུང་བ། གནས་ཁང་གི་སྒོར་ནི་རུས་པའི་ཀེང་རུས་དང་། མགོའི་ཐོད་པ་བྲིའོ། །བཙུན་པ་དེ་ལྟར་འཚལ་ལོ་ཞེས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་མགོན་མེད་ཟས་སྦྱིན་གྱིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ལྟར་མཉན་ནས་ཐམས་ཅད་དེ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་དུ་འདྲིར་བཅུག་གོ །གང་གི་ཚེ་ཁྱིམ་བདག་མགོན་མེད་ཟས་སྦྱིན

這個園林因為沒有畫畫而不美觀，為了這個緣故，如果世尊允許，我將在這裡畫畫。世尊開示說：『居士，既然這樣，就允許你畫畫吧。』世尊開示說畫畫之後，他就收集了顏料，也召集了畫匠們，說道：『有知識的人們，世尊已經允許了，因此用這些顏料來畫祇陀林吧。』他們說道：『居士，如果要畫畫，請說在哪个方向畫什麼？』他說道： 『有知識的人們，我不知道，請稍等，我去請示世尊。』他們說道：『居士，很好，就這樣做，我們等著。』他走到世尊面前，用頭頂禮雙足，稟告說：『世尊，顏料已經收集，畫匠們也召集了，他們問道：居士，請說在哪个方向畫什麼？』為了這個緣故，請世尊慈悲，開示在哪个方向畫什麼。世尊開示說：『居士，如果是這樣，你就去，暫時在外門畫手持棍棒的夜叉，在門房裡畫大神通和五分輪迴輪，在走廊裡畫本生故事的連環畫，在淨房的門口畫手持念珠的夜叉，在供養的房間裡畫比丘長老們闡述佛法，在廚房裡畫手持食物的夜叉，在倉庫的門口畫手持鐵鉤的夜叉，在水房裡畫手持寶瓶、以各種裝飾品裝飾的龍，在浴室或暖房裡畫天神的經文，或者畫地獄的故事，在病人的藥房裡畫如來照顧病人的情景，在廁所的地方畫非常恐怖的墳場，在住所的門口畫骨骼和頭蓋骨。』比丘們，就這樣理解吧。居士給孤獨聽了世尊的話，完全按照那樣去畫了。當居士給孤獨

This garden is unsightly because it has no paintings. For this reason, if the Blessed One permits, I will paint here. The Blessed One said, 'Householder, since that is so, you are permitted to paint.' After the Blessed One said to paint, he collected the paints and summoned the painters, saying, 'Knowledgeable ones, the Blessed One has permitted it. Therefore, paint the Jeta Grove with these paints.' They said, 'Householder, if we are to paint, please tell us what to paint in which direction.' He said, 'Knowledgeable ones, I do not know. Please wait, and I will ask the Blessed One.' They said, 'Householder, very well, do so, and we will wait.' He went before the Blessed One, bowed his head at his feet, and reported, 'Blessed One, the paints have been collected, and the painters have been summoned. They asked, "Householder, please tell us what to paint in which direction?"' For this reason, please, Blessed One, with compassion, instruct us what to paint in which direction. The Blessed One said, 'Householder, if that is so, go and have a yaksha holding a club painted at the outer gate for a while. In the gatehouse, paint great miracles and the five-part wheel of existence. In the corridor, paint a series of Jataka tales. At the door of the cleansing room, paint yakshas holding rosaries. In the offering room, paint monastic elders expounding the Dharma. In the kitchen, paint yakshas holding food. At the door of the treasury, paint yakshas holding iron hooks. In the water house, paint nagas holding vases, adorned with various ornaments. In the bathhouse or warming room, paint the scriptures of the gods, or the stories of hell. In the sickroom of the patients, paint the Tathagata attending to the sick. In the lavatory, paint a cemetery that is extremely terrifying. At the door of the dwelling, paint skeletons and skulls.'
