The ninth, the Buddha Bhagavan was dwelling in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindada's Park in Shravasti. King Prasenajit of Kosala had a chamberlain named Great Chamberlain. Once, the king scolded him, and he thought: Kings are difficult to please no matter what you do, so I will go and become a renunciate. So he went to Jeta's Grove. The custom of the Group of Six was that none of the Group of Six would leave the gate of Jeta's Grove empty, so the venerable Nanda was at the gate. He recognized him from before, so he greeted him in the usual way, saying, "Welcome, Great Chamberlain, you are like the moon, it has been a long time, where have you come from?" He said, "Venerable, being seen often is despised, it is good to be seen after a long time. Great Chamberlain, what do you need? Venerable, the king is difficult to please, and cannot please the gods, so I am going forth." Great Chamberlain, your aspiration is good, very good! Going forth is the best. The Bhagavan also saw five benefits, from "The Buddhas and the noble disciples of the Buddhas have praised going forth in many ways," and so on, as before. Well, go forth! So he went forth and was fully ordained. The king asked the ministers: Wise ones, the Great Chamberlain is not seen, is he ill? They said: God, he is not ill, but if God asks what happened, he went to Jeta's Grove and went forth. Who ordained him? The venerable Nanda. The king heard this and was angry, and sent a messenger to him, saying: Venerable, did you go forth because you were scolded? If you ordain the Great Chamberlain, then now I will also ordain you and the noble men, Flower Garland Woman, and Summer Maker Woman, and you yourself will rule the kingdom! He also replied to him: God, come here! I will ordain you and the noble men, Flower Garland Woman, and Summer Maker Woman, and I myself will rule the kingdom. Like this I
