It is said to approach a little closer. Monks, since this is the case, now even the gods will mock, saying, 'Alas, the renunciants of the Shakya clan have completely fallen away from the virtuous Dharma.' This is neither beautiful nor appropriate. Therefore, a monk should not use a peacock tail net to catch a young nāga, but if he sees a young nāga, he should sound a rattle and say, 'Fair-faced one, do not stand in the path where I can see you.' If it is not in the path where I can see it, that is good. If it is there, slowly take a dry branch, put it in a bottle or earthenware pot, then make a hole in it, seal the mouth, and take it out. If there is no dry branch, use a rope, iron hook, or iron ring to tie it around its neck and take it out. If there is no rope, iron hook, or iron ring, wrap the latch rope or rein net with cloth, use it to catch it, then put it in a bottle and take it out. Monks, after taking it out like that, throw it into the forest, and it, out of anger, burns the forest, and it itself is also burned to death. The Blessed One said, 'Do not throw it into the forest.' The monks threw it in an open place, but before a moment had passed, it was carried away by an animal called "འོལ་བ". The Blessed One said, 'Do not turn back immediately, but leave it in an open place and stay there until it enters its own dwelling.' The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in the Kalanda place in the Light Garden in Rajagriha. In Rajagriha, there lived a householder who was skilled in stonework, making and selling stone carvings. At another time, he gained much wealth and thought, 'What method can I use to both accumulate merit and gain more wealth?' He was a faithful person and thought, 'If I invite the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, to my home and offer them stone carvings, I will both accumulate merit and gain more wealth.' So he went to where the Blessed One was, and until the monks' lunch time, he laid out seats.

As before until that point. Then, that householder, knowing that the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, were comfortable, used his own hand towel to completely satisfy them with pure and excellent food and drink. He completely strengthened them. In many ways, he used his own hand towel to completely satisfy them with pure and excellent food and drink. Having completely served them, the Blessed One was offered an umbrella, and knowing that his alms bowl was full, he took a very low seat and sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One rejoiced in that generosity with this rejoicing: "Among offerings, the fire offering is supreme. Among combinations, nurturing is supreme. Among people, the king is supreme. Among rivers, the ocean is supreme. Among stars, the moon is supreme. Among lights, the sun is supreme. Above, below, and directly, however many beings there are, in the world with gods, the supreme object of worship is the fully enlightened Buddha." From that, having made them exceedingly happy, he rose from his seat and departed, as before until that point. Again, he invited the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, to his house for a meal, and he began to serve them with stone fruit and sarpa, as was the custom for the elderly, and even those that had been used. The monks were ashamed and did not take them. The Blessed One said, "It is completely pure because it was done by a householder, so it should be taken. There is no need to be ashamed of this." The Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling in Jeta's Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Sravasti. The Blessed One commanded, "Do the work of dyeing." The monks boiled the dye to make it wet, but because it contained yogurt, it became cooked and unsightly, and those were also not suitable. The Blessed One commanded, "Dry it and then boil it." The monks dried it in the sun, and it became very small. The Blessed One commanded, "Do not dry it in the sun." The monks dried it in the shade, and it became moldy. The Blessed One commanded, "Do not dry it in the shade, but dry it in partial sunlight." The monks...
