A large (spittoon) should be placed. Monks, whatever kind of copper vessel, it can be placed nearby, but if it rolls, it will cause the same fault. The Blessed One taught: It should be placed like an elephant's leg. Also, some people spit and it splashes up. The Blessed One taught: The ground should be laid out. The monks did not know what to lay the ground with, and the Blessed One taught: With brick powder or sand. Bees gathered there, and the Blessed One taught: They should be driven away. After it became smelly, the Blessed One taught: It should be washed from time to time. The monks washed it but did not dry it, and creatures appeared, and the Blessed One taught: It should be washed and dried. Also, some monks suffered from excessive phlegm until the phlegm dried. The Blessed One taught: Seriously ill patients should place two spittoons nearby. Monks read, recite, and talk in the monasteries, and they spit, and they are absent-minded and spit casually. The Blessed One taught: One should not spit casually in a forgotten place or residence, but in the four corners of the monastery, next to the pillars, four spittoons of the Sangha should be placed, and there, while reading, reciting, or talking, one should maintain mindfulness and then spit. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's monastery. At that time, the brother of a certain venerable one had died from among the hell beings for five hundred lifetimes, and was born again among the hell beings, and then was reborn here. From childhood he was attached to the household, especially attached to the household, indulging in the joy of playing, and focused on playing, and did not arise with the memory of hell. Later, at another time, he went forth into the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, and the Blessed One, in the various aspects of the Sutras, the Vinaya, and the Abhidharma, spoke of hell, hungry ghosts, animals, gods, and humans.

Therefore, after hearing the words of hell, the feeling of hellish beings manifested, and blood flowed from all the pores, and the robes also became mottled, and the smell was also unpleasant. At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: Therefore, allow the monks to carry a body-wiping cloth. After the Blessed One said to carry a body-wiping cloth, they wore the body-wiping cloth outside the robes, resulting in the same fault. The Blessed One said: It should be worn inside. They only used it to wipe the body, resulting in boils. The Blessed One said: Do not only use it to wipe, but soak it in alkaline water and gently, slowly wash it. The pus and blood on the body-wiping cloth should also be washed from time to time, and it should also be changed color with dye. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in the Light Garden of Rajagriha, at the Bird Kalandaka. The venerable Pilindavatsa, from the time he was ordained, was always like that. Those who practiced Brahmacharya with him went and asked: Venerable, are you well? (Pilindavatsa replied:) Good sir, I am sick and uncomfortable. They said: Venerable, what did you carry before? (Pilindavatsa replied:) Good sir, an iron bathing pot. (They asked:) Venerable, if so, why don't you carry it now? (Pilindavatsa replied:) Good sir, the Blessed One does not allow it. At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: Therefore, allow the monks to carry an iron bathing pot. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden. When the monks prostrated to the stupa, their feet were covered with mud. The Blessed One said: The ground should be paved. They did not know how to pave the ground. The Blessed One said: A brick ground should be paved, then covered with brick powder, and then plastered with lime. The area of the stupa became very large and was not enough. The Blessed One said: A wall of one fathom should be paved. However, it was still not enough.

The Blessed One said: "If it is not even, then spread grass mats." If that is also not available, the Blessed One said: "Place bricks in between." When mud accumulates in the courtyards of the monasteries that rely on any door, the Blessed One said: "There also, do it in the same order." The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden in the grove of Prince Jeta. In Shravasti, there was a householder who had a hut built in the monastery, and a monk was staying there. When the early winter season arrived, he was threatened by the wind and became pale and thin, his body emaciated and weak, and he went to that householder and said: "Householder, be aware, I am going somewhere else." And he said: "Venerable, please do not be in a hurry." He said: "I am not in a hurry at all, but the wind is making me suffer." He said: "Venerable, please stay, and I will give you a firestone." He said: "Householder, the Blessed One does not allow it." "Venerable, the Blessed One is compassionate and will allow it." At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: "Therefore, allow the monk to keep a firestone nearby, and let him strike fire with it and do the work of fire." That householder gave the firestone to that monk, and he struck fire with it and did the work of fire. After a while, five hundred thieves were going to work on a cliff, and when they went in that direction, they said to that monk: "Venerable, if you are frozen by the wind, is there fire here?" He said: "Good sirs, there is not." "Venerable, how do you do the work of fire?" "Good sirs, I strike fire with a firestone and then do the work of fire." "Venerable, where is that firestone?" "Good sirs, it is in this direction." When they saw it, they went to the cliff, worked there, and came back and said: "Wise ones, let's go and steal that venerable one's firestone." They went to him and said: "Where is the firestone, good sirs? It is right here in this direction." They...
