那时，另一次，一位出家受持了善说之律藏，但他没有得到一张价值一千的垫子。过了一段时间，那位施主去了逝多林，看到那个孩子睡在一张空床上，没有垫子，就说：“孩子，这些比丘都有垫子，你为什么没有？” 他回答说：“父亲，这些比丘出家很久了，所以他们得到了垫子，而我才刚刚出家，所以我没有得到。” 他说：“孩子，如果是这样，我给你寄一块帕当，把它放在这里。” 他说：“世尊没有允许。” “孩子，世尊是慈悲的，他会允许的。” 那时，比丘们向世尊祈请，世尊开示说：“既然如此，允许比丘铺帕当。” 世尊开示说比丘应该铺帕当，但他没有铺帕当就使用了，结果变脏了。过了一段时间，那位施主也来到了寺院，看到了那块脏兮兮的帕当，没有认出来，就说：“孩子，你是不是遇到了什么不幸，变得如此贫困？” “父亲，我找到了另一块帕当。” “父亲，希望你能找到另一块。” “孩子，为什么这块帕当变得这么脏？” “父亲，因为我没有铺就使用了。” “孩子，你竟然把这么好的衣服弄脏了？唉，你铺上再用不是更好吗？” 那时，比丘们向世尊祈请，世尊开示说：“即使是粗糙的垫子，也不应该不铺就使用，如果使用，就会犯重罪。” 佛陀世尊住在逝多林的给孤独园。世尊开示说应该布施听法的人，说法者坐在狮子座上，双脚垂下。世尊开示说应该设置脚凳。世尊开示说应该设置脚凳，但比丘们不知道该如何设置。世尊开示说：

He replied, "Father, these monks have been ordained for a long time, so they have received cushions, but I have only just been ordained, so I have not received one." He said, "Child, if that is the case, I will send you a partang, put it here." He said, "The Blessed One has not allowed it." "Child, the Blessed One is compassionate, he will allow it." At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One taught, "Since that is the case, allow the monk to spread a partang." The Blessed One taught that a monk should spread a partang, but he used that partang without spreading it, and it became dirty. After some time, that householder also came to the monastery, and seeing that dirty partang, he did not recognize it and said, "Child, have you encountered some misfortune, becoming so impoverished?" "Father, I found another partang." "Father, I hope you can find another one." "Child, why has this partang become so dirty?" "Father, because I used it without spreading it." "Child, you have ruined such a good piece of clothing? Alas, wouldn't it have been better if you had spread it before using it?" At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One taught, "Even a rough mat should not be used without spreading it, if used, it will be a serious offense." The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Anathapindika's Grove in Prince Jeta's Grove. The Blessed One taught that those who listen to the Dharma should be given alms, and the Dharma speaker sat on the lion throne with his feet hanging down. The Blessed One taught that a footstool should be set up. The Blessed One taught that a footstool should be set up, but the monks did not know how to set it up. The Blessed One taught:
