Then, the Bhagavan, like a swan king spreading its wings, rose into the center of the sky and descended from the sky above to the fragrant mountain of incense. There, as the venerable Ānanda went with him to various places, they came to a Sahakara tree. There, a blind female monkey was wandering about freely, and when she saw the Bhagavan, she contemplated without distraction. Then, the Bhagavan said to the venerable Ānanda, "Ānanda, do you see this blind female monkey?" "Bhagavan, I see it." "Ānanda, what do you think? Which of these two, the monkey and the exceedingly beautiful woman, has a better appearance? Which is more beautiful and pleasing to the eye?" He replied, "Venerable, this monkey does not even come close to one hundredth of the exceedingly beautiful daughter of the Śākya clan, not even one thousandth, not even one hundred thousandth. Neither in number, calculation, part, arithmetic, simile, nor cause does it come close. Venerable, the exceedingly beautiful daughter of the Śākya clan is comparable to the daughters of the gods!" The Bhagavan said, "Ānanda, if that is so, then take hold of the edge of the Tathāgata's robe!" He then took hold of the edge of the Bhagavan's robe. Then, the Bhagavan, like a swan king spreading its wings, rose into the center of the sky and descended from the sky above to the heaven of the Thirty-three (Trāyastriṃśa). Then, the Bhagavan, residing in the pleasure garden of the Joyful Grove, said to the venerable Ānanda, "Ānanda, go and look at the gods of the Thirty-three!" Then, he saw the gods' play, joy, happiness, the pleasure garden of thought, the Joyful Grove, various chariots, rough transformations, mixtures, gatherings, and good Dharma, etc. They were better than each other and exceedingly excellent, and then he went to the city of Delight. He went there and saw the lutes, flutes, three-stringed lutes, zithers, harps, and so on, placed in various places, and the sons of the gods in various places.
