From "after striking the ghanta" to "be pleased to do so" is the same as before. "Named 'so and so', are you pleased to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils?" If he is pleased, he should say, "I am pleased." After that, one bhikshu makes a motion and then acts: "Venerable sangha, please listen. If the bhikshu named 'so and so' is pleased to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, if it is the sangha's time and it is acceptable, may the sangha permit it. The sangha will appoint the bhikshu named 'so and so' to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, this bhikshu named 'so and so' is the dispenser of the sangha's utensils." This is the motion. The karma should also be done in this way: "Venerable sangha, please listen. The bhikshu named 'so and so' is pleased to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, therefore, if the sangha appoints the bhikshu named 'so and so' to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, those who are venerable who approve of appointing the bhikshu named 'so and so' to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, let them be silent. Those who do not approve, let them speak. The sangha approves and permits, the sangha has appointed the bhikshu named 'so and so' to be the dispenser of the sangha's utensils, thus, by being silent, it is understood as such." He gives the old utensils to the bhikshus and the new ones to the householders, and the Blessed One said: "The new ones should be given to the bhikshus and the old ones to the householders." Those given to the householders are not taken back, but taken back from the bhikshus, and the Blessed One said: "Those given to the householders should be taken back, but not from the bhikshus." After being placed outside, those things became scattered, and the Blessed One said: "Make a storehouse for utensils and place the utensils made by the potter there." The Blessed One made a storehouse for utensils, and the Blessed One said: "Place the utensils made by the potter there," and so on.

At that time, a guest came from the north and provided the Sangha with all necessities for three months. He thought: Why should I serve the Sangha with inferior necessities? I should rather serve with my own utensils. So he placed many copper utensils nearby. Then, with many necessities, he offered meals to the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks for three months, and finally held a farewell banquet and left. When he was leaving, he offered all those copper utensils to the Sangha. The monks placed those copper utensils together with the pottery made by the potter in the storehouse. Because of the copper utensils, the pottery made by the potter was broken. The Blessed One instructed: The copper utensils should be placed separately, and the pottery made by the potter should also be placed separately. When a Brahmin, distressed by thirst, went to Jeta Grove, he went to a monk and said: Venerable monk, I am thirsty, please give me water to drink. The monk gave him a water pot and a water strainer. He said: Venerable, what is this for? Please give me water to drink. The monk said: Brahmin, there is no water scum. Venerable, since you have come to benefit all sentient beings, alas, what is wrong with you placing water nearby? The monk said: The Blessed One does not allow it. At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: The Sangha should place water nearby. The monks placed water haphazardly in the courtyards, residences, inside the temples, at the doorways, and on the steps. The Blessed One instructed: Water should not be placed haphazardly in the courtyards, residences, inside the temples, at the doorways, and on the steps, but rather a water house should be built. When the Blessed One instructed to build a water house, the monks did not know in which direction to build it, nor how to build it. The Blessed One instructed: Build a water house on the south and west sides inside the temple. Because it became dark, the Blessed One instructed: Windows should be made first. Because dirt accumulated
