་ཀ་གནས་པ་ན་བཞུགས་སོ། །ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་པི་ལིན་དའི་བུ་གང་ནས་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བ་དེ་ཚུན་ཆད་རྟག་ཏུ་ན་ནས་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་རྣམས་དེའི་དྲུང་དུ་སོང་སྟེ། གནས་བརྟན་བདེའམ་ཞེས་དྲིས་པ་དང་། དེས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ན་སྟེ་མི་བདེའོ། །གནས་བརྟན་ཁྱོད་ཅི་ན། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་དག་གནང་ངོ་། །གནས་བརྟན་སྨན་ཅུང་ཟད་མཛོད་ཅིག །ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་དག་བདག་གིས་སྔོན་ཕུལ་བའི་བཏུང་ཕོར་བཅངས་སོ། །གནས་བརྟན་ད་ཅི་སྟེ་མི་བཅང་། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་མ་གནང་ངོ་། །སྐབས་དེ་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་གསོལ་པ་དང་། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། དེ་ལྟ་བས་ན་གནང་གིས་ཕུལ་བའི་བཏུང་ཕོར་བཅང་བར་བྱའོ། །སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ན་འོད་མའི་ཚལ་བྱ་ཀ་ལན་ད་ཀ་གནས་པ་ན་བཞུགས་སོ། །ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་པི་ལིན་དའི་བུའི་གཉེན་དག་འོངས་པ་དང་། དེས་འོངས་པ་དེ་དག་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་ནས་དེ་རྣམས་ཁྱིམ་དུ་སོང་སྟེ་ཆུང་མ་དག་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་པི་ལིན་དའི་བུས་ཆོས་སྙན་ཅིང་སྙན་པ་དག་བཤད་དེ། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དེ་མཉན་ནས་འོངས་སོ། །དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱེད་ནི་སངས་རྒྱས་བྱུང་བ་འབྲས་བུ་དང་བཅས་པ་ཡིན་ནོ། །ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་འཕགས་པ་པི་ལིན་དའི་བུ་ལ་ཆོས་ སྙན་ཅིང་སྙན་པ་དག་མཉན་པས་སོ། །ཁྱེད་ཀྱང་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་མི་ཉན། བདག་ཅག་ནི་ངོ་དམན་པ་སྟེ་ངོ་ཚའོ། །འོན་ཀྱང་གལ་ཏེ་འཕགས་པ་འདིར་གཤེགས་ཏེ་བཤད་ན་བདག་ཅག་གིས་ཀྱང་མཉན་ཏོ། །གལ་ཏེ་དེ་ལྟ་ན་འཕགས་པ་ལ་བྱའོ། །དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ་ལེགས་སོ། །དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དེའི་དྲུང་དུ་སོང་ནས། འཕགས་པ་བུད་མེད་དག་ཆོས་ཉན་པར་འཚལ་ལོ་ཞེས་བྱས་པ་དང་། དེས་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་ཉན་ལ་རག་མོད། ཅི་ཁོ་བོས་བཀག་གམ། དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་བུད་མེད་ཀྱི་མཆིད་ནས་བདག་ཅག་ངོ་ཚ་སྟེ། གལ་ཏེ་འཕགས་པ་འདིར་གཤེགས་ནས་བཤད་ན་བདག་ཅག་ཀྱང་ཉན་ཏོ་ཞེས་མཆིའོ། །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་བདག་ན་བས་སོང་སྟེ་བཤད་མི་ནུས་སོ། །འཕགས་པ་ཁྱོགས་འཚལ་ཏེ་མཆིས་དེས་གཤེགས་ཤིག །བཞིན་བཟངས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་མ་གནང་ན་ཇི་ལྟར་འགྲོ། སྐབས་དེ་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཐོས་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་གསོལ་པ་དང་། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། དེ་ལྟ་བས་ན་གནང་གིས་བཞོན་པས་འགྲོ་བར་བྱའོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཞོན་པས་འགྲོ་བར་བྱའོ་ཞེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ་དང་། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་པི་ལིན་དའི་བུ་ལྷན་ཅིག་གནས་པ་དང་། ཉེ་གན

He was staying there. The venerable Pilindavatsa, ever since he had gone forth, was always ill, and those who practiced the pure life went to his presence and asked, 'Venerable, are you well?' He said, 'I am ill, not well.' 'Venerable, what do you need?' The venerable ones said, 'Venerable, please take some medicine.' 'Venerable ones, I used to hold the drinking bowl that was offered before.' 'Venerable, why don't you hold it now?' 'The Blessed One has not allowed it.' At that time, the monks petitioned the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said, 'Therefore, one should hold the drinking bowl that was offered.' The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Rajagriha, in the Bamboo Grove, the Kalandaka place. The relatives of the venerable Pilindavatsa came, and he taught the Dharma to those who came, and they went home and said to their wives, 'The venerable Pilindavatsa spoke sweet and pleasant Dharma, and we came after listening to it.' They said, 'You are the fruit of the Buddha's appearance!' Why did they say that? Because you listened to the sweet and pleasant Dharma from the venerable Pilindavatsa. Why don't you listen too? We are inferior people, we are ashamed.' However, if the venerable one would come here and speak, we would also listen.' 'If that is so, then we should ask the venerable one.' They said, 'Good.' They went to his presence and said, 'Venerable, the women want to hear the Dharma.' He said, 'Wise ones, listening depends on you, did I stop you?' They said, 'Venerable, we are ashamed because of the women, if the venerable one would come here and speak, we would also listen.' He said, 'Wise ones, I am sick and cannot go and speak.' 'Venerable, please go by some vehicle.' 'The Blessed One has not allowed going by vehicle, what should I do?'
