This person with joy requests the precepts from the Sangha for as long as life lasts. For this purpose, if the Sangha grants the precepts to the monk with joy for as long as life lasts, then, regarding the granting of the precepts to the monk with joy for as long as life lasts, those venerable ones who can tolerate it, please remain silent. Those who cannot tolerate it, please speak up. This is the first karma statement. The second and third should also be done in the same way. The Sangha has tolerated and permitted, and the Sangha has granted the precepts to the monk with joy for as long as life lasts. Because everyone is silent, it is thus accepted. I shall establish the practices to be followed by the monk who has been given the precepts. The monk who has been given the precepts should not speak respectfully to the monk who is abiding, nor should he prostrate, rise up, join his palms, or take on the work of servitude. He should not sit on the same seat. If he sits, he should take the lowest seat. He should not walk side by side. If he walks, he should slow his pace. The novice who follows should not go to the homes of the abiding monk, Brahmins, and householders. If he goes, he should send the novice ahead. He should not sleep under the same cover. He should not ordain. He should not grant full ordination, nor should he give lodging. He should not do it for the sake of the novice. He should not perform the act of solicitation. It is not solicitation and two. He should not do solicitation and four. He should not command to do work. He should not be a teacher of nuns. Even if he is someone who was previously appointed, he should not teach the nuns. He should not speak of the faults of the monk in terms of discipline, view, conduct, and livelihood. He should not give advice. He should not do the Uposatha. He should not do the Pravāraṇā. He should not do the act of solicitation. It is not solicitation and two. He should not do solicitation and four. In the morning, he should rise early and open the door. He should clean the lampstand. He should repair the broken parts of the temple. He should sweep. He should smear the ground with good cow dung. He should sweep the toilet. He should place earth, leaves, and cold or warm water according to the season. Then he should clean the washing area. He should know the time and spread out the seat.

The incense burner and incense should be placed nearby. If you are able to proclaim the virtues of the teacher, do it yourself. If you cannot, ask the speaker. The distribution of food should be checked. After the food has been distributed, go to the roof and strike the bell. In hot weather, monks should be fanned with cool fans. Then, for all fully ordained monks, it is below. For those who are not fully ordained, it is above. With peaceful conduct, mindfulness of the identity of a monk should be established, and food should be eaten. After the meal, one should retreat to a cave in the dwelling. The base of the bowl should be discarded. Knowing the time, the stupas of the Tathagata's hair and nail relics should be cleaned, and the ground should be smeared with good cow dung. At the time of assembly, the dwelling should be prepared, and incense and incense burners should be placed. The virtues of the teacher should be proclaimed. Venerable Sangha, please listen. Today is the first day of the Sangha. For the sake of the patrons of the monastery and the deities of the monastery, please recite verses, thus stating the date. If you cannot, entrust it to a monk. The monks do not allocate dwellings, so the Blessed One said: Dwellings should be allocated. They also do not give offerings, so the Blessed One said: Offerings should be given. They do not strive for virtue, so the Blessed One said: Strive for virtue. His conduct is like this, until he enters the path. Entering the path is like this, that is, the exhaustion of outflows. Through effort and diligence, he realizes the moving and unmoving five aggregates of the wheel of samsara, and contemplates that all conditioned phenomena are by nature destroyed, fallen, scattered, and disintegrated, abandoning all defilements, realizing the state of an Arhat, being free from desire for the three realms, regarding gold and dung as equal, regarding the sky and the palm of the hand as the same, regarding sandalwood and firewood as indistinguishable, breaking the shell of the egg of ignorance, obtaining knowledge, superknowledge, and discriminating wisdom, not being attached to the gains of existence, and turning one's back on respect.
