Having changed from... Therefore, a bhikshu should not wear beaded ornaments, hanging ornaments, crescent-shaped ornaments, gold threads, or any other kind of ornaments. If he wears them, he will commit a serious offense. Summary: What has been taken and what should be learned, incense, yams, medicine and boxes, bowls, containers and essence, ghee, grains, ghee for smearing. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Garden of Anathapindika. In a certain cave lived a householder who took a wife of equal status and played with her, rejoiced, and enjoyed pleasure. At another time, his relatives all died, his wealth was exhausted, and his enjoyments were exhausted, and he thought: Now I am old and cannot acquire wealth, I have no enjoyments, and my relatives have passed away, I should go forth and become a renunciate. Having thought this, he said to his wife: Good woman, now I am old and cannot acquire wealth, I have no enjoyments, and my relatives have passed away, I have asked you and should go forth and become a renunciate. If that householder were an upright person, but he always practiced deceit and always looked at other men, so he said: Son of the king, do so, but visit me from time to time. He promised to do so. Then he went to the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, went to a bhikshu and said: Noble one, I wish to become a renunciate. He said: Good sir, you are fearless, have good courage, very good. The Bhagavan, with his wisdom, fully saw five benefits, therefore one should be inclined to renounce. What are these five? I will obtain my own unmixed benefit, having truly seen with wisdom, therefore one should be inclined to renounce. Those who are my slaves, those who drive me, those who use me, those who have no autonomy, those who cannot go as they please, they will make offerings to me, they will praise me, having truly seen with wisdom, therefore one should be inclined to renounce. Accomplishing Nirvana, happiness.

It is fitting that a wise person should desire to renounce, seeing that obtaining the unsurpassed (Nirvana) is worthy of being renounced. And that I have achieved freedom from suffering, and although I have completely fallen away from not obtaining unsurpassed bliss, I will be born among the gods, and that a wise person should desire to renounce, knowing these things. The Buddhas and the Hearer Disciples of the Buddha, the noble beings who have attained the supreme right path, praise renunciation in many ways, and it is fitting that a wise person should desire to renounce, knowing these things. Thus he spoke, (the Buddha said) it is good that you have generated the mind of enlightenment! Renounce in this well-spoken Vinaya! Thus, he let him renounce, and gave him the Bhikshu vows. Then, for two or three days, he learned all the practices and said: Good-looking mountain dweller, you, by the name of the immortal mountain dweller, in the great city of Shravasti, in your father's territory, go begging for alms and live! Then the next morning, he put on his skirt and dharma robes, took his bowl, and entered Shravasti for alms. While he was begging for alms, he saw a woman who looked like his wife, and he thought: My former wife, I promised her that I would come back after renouncing, and that is why I renounced, so wait a little while, don't make her unhappy, just go like that. Thinking this, he went through begging for alms, and then went to Prince Victory Banner's garden. He stayed there for a while, and said to the Abbot: Abbot, I have a former attendant, I promised her that I would go back after renouncing, so please allow me to go back. He said: Son, go and guard your mind. He said: I will guard it. After saying this, he set off, and gradually reached that mountain rock. She saw him from a very long distance, and was very happy, and hurried to greet him, saying: The master's son has come, that's great! It's great that you've come! It's been a long time since I've seen you. After saying this, she was about to touch him, and he said: What are you doing? Take off your dharma robes and put them in the cushion. He said: Don't touch me! Why?
