The tenth thing to do. One should not regret this. Summary: Monas beans and buckwheat, and unsuitable land, vomiting and eating, choosing and eating food, regret and the staff's bowl. The Buddha Bhagavan was staying in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park in Shravasti. The venerable Namgru ate very little of anything, so his name became Namgru the Frugal. Namgru the Frugal became famous. At another time, he entered the toilet and saw a seed of Monas bean and buckwheat there, and an improper thought arose in him. I have done something unsuitable for seeds. He thought. At another time, some Monas bean and buckwheat food appeared in the Sangha, and he did not eat it, but covered the bowl and left it there. The co-residents and attendants said: Abbot, Monas bean and buckwheat food has appeared in the Sangha, why don't you eat it? He said: Children, I have done something unsuitable for seeds. They said: Abbot, what have you done? He told what had happened, and they did not eat it either. Their friends asked: Why don't you eat? They told what had happened, and because he had many followers, the entire Sangha did not eat. At that time, the monks reported to the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan said: Monks, there is something called seed type difficulty, and if steam arises, that is Dharma. Having said that, it should be eaten, and one should not regret this. The Buddha Bhagavan was staying in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park in Shravasti. The venerable Ananda asked the Buddha Bhagavan: Venerable, if trees grow from unsuitable land, and fruits fall on suitable land, should they be enjoyed? Should they not be enjoyed? The Bhagavan said: Ananda, they should not be enjoyed. Venerable, if trees grow from suitable land, and fruits fall on unsuitable land, should they be enjoyed? Should they be enjoyed?

It should not be used. O nearby one, if it has not been overnight, it should be fully enjoyed. Bhikshu, for a while, if a tree grows in a suitable place, and fruits ripen in an unsuitable place, should it be fully enjoyed? It should not be fully enjoyed. O nearby one, it should be fully enjoyed. The Buddha Bhagavan was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika Garden. In Shravasti, a Brahmin lived, who obtained a bull by begging. After that, he obtained a cow. After that, he obtained another bull. After that, he obtained another cow, and his herd of cattle became prosperous. The Brahmin, having the thought of auspiciousness for the first bull he obtained, released that bull as well. At another time, it became old and weak, and wanting water, it went to the bank of the river Drekden and fell into the mud. The venerable Shariputra also went that way, and seeing it, he thought: Does this bull have a little bit of virtuous root? And he saw that it did. Who depends on it? Only I. He pulled it out of the mud and wiped it with his hand. Then, O good-faced one, thus all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all dharmas are without self, Nirvana is peace. He spoke these three verses of Dharma, and also generate joy towards me, so that you may be freed from desire from the animal realm. Having said that, he left. It was also eaten by a jackal, and when it was being eaten by the jackal, it thought: If the noble one had not come here, I would not have become like this. Thinking, it generated great joy towards the venerable Shariputra, and having passed away, it was born in Shravasti itself, in a Brahmin family diligent in the six occupations. The venerable Shariputra thought about what the condition of that bull was like, and saw when it had passed away. Again, thinking where it was born, and seeing that it was born in Shravasti itself, in a Brahmin family diligent in the six occupations, he went to that house again and again, and he placed that Brahmin and his wife in refuge and in the precepts. At another time, the monks who followed the outsiders

Then he left impolitely. The Brahmin said, "Venerable one, what? Do you not have a monastic disciple who follows you?" He said, "Good sir! What? Do my monastic disciples who follow me come from grasping at kasha grass or grasping at kusha grass? Whatever is obtained from someone like you, that can become my monastic disciple who follows me. Venerable one, if a being enters my womb, and if he is born as a boy, then he will be your monastic disciple who follows you." "Good sir! May you be free from illness! I accept." Having said this, he left. After eight or nine months, he gave birth to something like a lump of calf meat, and his relatives gathered together and extensively celebrated the newborn's festival for twenty-one days, and then they were going to give the child a name. What name should the child be given? The relatives said, "Because this child is like a lump of calf meat, therefore let the child be named 'Lord of the Calf'." Thus, the name was determined to be 'Lord of the Calf.' After he was raised and became an adult, the venerable Shariputra, in the morning, having put on his lower garment and Dharma robes and carrying his alms bowl, entered Shravasti for alms. While wandering for alms in Shravasti, he went to that Brahmin's house, and the Brahmin said, "Welcome!" He treated him with all kinds of good words and bowed at his feet. The wife also gave him clean food and drink, and filled his alms bowl with food and offered it. That boy looked at the face of the venerable Shariputra and signaled to the Brahmin, and the Brahmin said to the boy, "Boy, from before you were born from me, I have offered you to the venerable Shariputra as a monastic disciple who follows him. Go together with the venerable one! That being is one who has the last existence, go after him!" He ordained him, gave him the full ordination, and gave him instructions. He strived, exerted himself, and persevered, and realized the moving and unmoving five aggregates of the wheel of samsara, and contemplated all conditioned phenomena as being of the nature of decay, falling, changing, and completely decaying, and having abandoned all defilements, he directly realized the state of an Arhat, having separated from the desire of the three realms, his mind like gold.
