From "Now a householder" to "invited to the house." When the twelve groups of monks received an equal distribution of rice and vegetables, they would ask for more. The Blessed One taught: Food should be eaten equally with rice. Similarly, from "Another householder invited to the house" to "between." There, there was a lot of rice, but very little vegetables. They covered the vegetables with rice and asked for more again. The Blessed One taught: Do not cover the vegetables with rice. Similarly, from "Elsewhere" to "between." There were a lot of vegetables, but very little rice. Because they wanted more, they covered the rice with vegetables. The Blessed One taught: Food should be taken and eaten well, not just a little bit, it should be equally distributed with vegetables, and in order to want more, do not cover the vegetables with rice, nor cover the rice with vegetables, one should learn in this way. After that, the twelve groups of monks, when eating, would hold their bowls in the future. The Blessed One taught: Do not hold them. After that, in front of Spom Gamo, at the front of the line, an old nun who had been fully ordained was sitting with her mouth open. After that, Spom Gamo tied some threads in her mouth. The Blessed One taught: Do not open your mouth without measuring the food. After that, the twelve groups of monks made noises while eating. The nuns said: Alas, brothers and sisters, what is the point of doing this? They said: It would be bad if we forgot this name. The Blessed One taught: Do not speak with your mouth full of food. After that, the twelve groups of monks put two or three grains of rice into their mouths, from "beginning" to "give it to the unpopular like this, eat like this." The Blessed One taught: Do not eat too small portions. After that, the twelve groups of monks put very large portions of food into their mouths, from "beginning" to "give it to the hungry like this, eat like this." The Blessed One taught: When eating, do not hold the bowl in the future, and do not open your mouth without measuring the food.
