When someone is stingy with fruit for the sake of hearing the Dharma, sores appear on their hands; when asking for forgiveness, the head becomes bald; when kneeling and requesting the Dharma, the tongue becomes dry. She said, "Why shouldn't I be stingy?" When those nuns were disparaging the nuns who were content with little, they reported it to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," made it up to the establishment of the precepts. If any nun is stingy with the Dharma, she commits a Patayantika offense. The "any" refers to Thullananda. "Stingy with the Dharma," the "Dharma" refers to what the Buddha said or what the Shravakas said. "Commits a Patayantika offense" is as previously stated. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? If a nun is even slightly stingy with the Dharma, she commits a Patayantika offense in all ways. The summary of the five types of stinginess is: dwelling, praise, family, gain, and Dharma. The seventh of the twentieth Patayantika is complete. The place where the story took place was Shravasti. Then, the group of twelve nuns, after eating gains in one place, would go to another place to eat again. When they ate both what had been given up and what had not been given up, those nuns who were content with little rebuked them. They reported it to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," made it up to the establishment of the precepts. If any nun, after eating and giving up, eats or chews food again, she commits a Patayantika offense. The "any" refers to the group of twelve. "After eating" means having given up in one place and breaking the conduct. "Eating or chewing" refers to the five types of food and the five types of chewable items. "Chewing or eating" means secretly swallowing a mouthful. "Commits a Patayantika offense" is as previously stated. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? If a nun chews or eats something that has been given up, with the perception that it has been given up, she commits a Patayantika offense. Similarly, if she eats with doubt, she commits a Patayantika offense. If a nun chews or eats something that has not been given up, with the perception that it has been given up, she commits a Dukkata offense. Similarly, if she eats with doubt, she commits a Dukkata offense. The eighth of the twentieth Patayantika is complete. The place where the story took place was Shravasti. Then, Thullananda, in the morning, put on her lower garment, took her bowl, and her Dharma robes.

Then she went out for alms, and entered the house of a householder, and the wife of that householder had given birth to a son. She herself did not know how to bathe the child. Then, Spondaga said: Virtuous one, please give alms. She said: Holy mother, I do not like to work. Spondaga said: Why? No one has bathed my child. Spondaga said: Why don't you know how to wash? Spondaga said: Are you also like a servant, only able to do one thing? She said: Holy mother, I know nothing about this. Spondaga said: Is there anything she is not good at in terms of crafts and work? She said: Holy mother, please bathe my child. Then, Spondaga said: Who will give her alms? She said: I will offer to the bhikkhuni who comes after, I will offer to my female teacher and housekeeper. Then, Spondaga put down the bowl, tidied her clothes, picked up the child, walked around for a while, and then washed and rubbed it with clean clay underneath, then washed it with warm water, put eye medicine in the eyes, drew auspicious marks with ghee, combed the hair, smeared it with honey and butter, and then put it in the cradle and rocked it, and admonished: You should bathe like this every day. Then she took up the burden of alms and went to the summer retreat. Then, that householder came and said to his wife: Virtuous wife, you have bathed the child well today. From "Ocheo" to "Spondaga washed", and to "offered very many alms". Then, at another time, the great Great Mother of Creatures) Gotami, in the morning, put on her skirt, took the bowl and Dharma robe, and entered the house of that householder for alms, and said: Virtuous one, please give alms. She said: Holy mother, my child wash
