Half and half instructions. Without nuns, no Uposatha. Without nuns, no summer retreat. Those in summer retreat should make distinctions. The basis of the story is in Nyen Yö (舍卫城, Shravasti). Then, Bomga ordained them year by year. Later, when they were called by those names, they were called "first year," "second year," up to "fifth year." Then, the nuns said to her, "Holy one, don't you know their names?" She said, "Who would know so many names?" At that time, the nuns with few concerns were scolding her. They appealed to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One made the rule from this incident onwards. Furthermore, any nun who ordains year by year commits a downfall. Who is it? It is Bomga. What does "year by year" mean? It means each year. What does "ordain" mean? It means to fully ordain. What does "commits a downfall" mean? It means the same as before. How does one incur a downfall? If a nun ordains even a little bit year by year, she will incur a downfall in all cases. The first of the nineteenth downfalls is complete. The basis of the story is in Nyen Yö (舍卫城, Shravasti). Then, Bomga, having taken the Sangha's desire of the former fifteenth day, also experienced the Uposatha of the latter fifteenth day. Then, the nuns said to her, "Holy one, why do you do that?" She said, "Because I am the third basket, I know how it will be." At that time, the nuns with few concerns were scolding her. They appealed to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One made the rule from this incident onwards. Furthermore, any nun who experiences the Uposatha with a Sangha's desire that has passed its time commits a downfall. Who is it? It is Bomga. What does "passed its time" mean? It means used up. What does "Sangha's desire" mean? It means intelligence. What does "experiences the Uposatha and commits a downfall" mean? It means the same as before. How does one incur a downfall? If a nun even slightly, with a Sangha's desire that has passed its time...

If practiced, everything will become a downfall. The second of the nineteenth downfall is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. The Blessed One taught that a bhikshuni who observes the fifteenth-day vow should go to the bhikshuni sangha and learn and practice the precepts and instructions from the bhikshus. However, when the twelve groups did not practice the precepts and instructions, the bhikshunis reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "this happened," made the precepts until the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a bhikshuni does not practice the precepts and instructions every half month, she commits a downfall. Furthermore, "who" refers to the twelve groups, etc. "Every half month" refers to half a month. "Not practicing the precepts and instructions" refers to not following along with the bhikshuni sangha. "Committing a downfall" is as before. So, how does one commit a downfall? As long as a bhikshuni slightly does not practice the precepts and instructions every half month, everything will become a downfall. The third of the nineteenth downfall is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Then, when the bhikshunis were wandering, they went to a bhikshuni's summer retreat. There, they performed the posadha in a place without bhikshunis. They gradually wandered and went to Shravasti. When they arrived at the summer retreat, the bhikshunis said: "Endowed with the Buddha, endowed with the Dharma, endowed with the Sangha, it is good that you have come! Where did you perform the posadha?" They said: "In such and such a place." Then, those bhikshunis said to the bhikshunis: "Why did you perform the posadha in a place without bhikshunis?" When they reported to the Blessed One, the Blessed One
