If one stays overnight in a house, then everything will become a downfall. The summary of the twelfth chapter of downfalls is complete. In the verses it says: Knowing those who resided earlier, and serving the sick, and not driving out from the summer house, and not on the same bed and mat. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, Sthūlanandā traveled and entered the house of a field owner. There were also nuns who had resided there earlier. They did not perform worldly courtesies for her, and she used means to drive them out of the house. At those times, the nuns with few desires reproached her, and then reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," proceeded until the establishment of the precept. If any nun, knowingly that nuns had resided earlier, comes later and drives them out of the house, it is a downfall. The "any" in that refers to Sthūlanandā. "Resided earlier" refers to residing from the beginning. "Knowingly" refers to having been said by oneself or by others. "Nuns" refers to these Dharma holders. "Comes later" refers to another time. "Drives out of the house" refers to from the dwelling. "It is a downfall" is the same as before. So, how does it become a downfall? If the nuns slightly drive the previously residing nuns out of the house, then everything will become a downfall. The first part of the thirteenth downfall is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, Sthūlanandā, living together, and having placed attendants nearby, does not serve when sick. Those without support suffer improperly, and at those times, the nuns with few desires reproached her, and then reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," proceeded until the establishment of the precept. If any nun, living together, and having placed attendants nearby, does not serve when sick, it is a downfall. The "any" in that refers to Sthūlanandā. "Living together, and having placed attendants nearby" refers to having ordained and then placed. "When sick" refers to
