Then that man also cursed and ran away. The nuns ridiculed, and when they were also scolding, they reported to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," did everything up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a nun, alone and without a second person, stays overnight in a room without a nun, she commits a Patayantika offense. Also, "who" refers to Thullananda. "Alone and without a second person, staying in a nun's room" means sleeping. "Committing a Patayantika offense" means the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? If a nun, even slightly, alone and without a second person, sleeps in a room, she will commit a Patayantika offense in its entirety. The summary of the ten Patayantika verses is complete. Summary: Whispering in the ear is second, and overestimating oneself, non-vow for Brahmacharya, discussing with a sinful view. The origin of the story is in Shravasti (Śrāvastī). Then, Thullananda whispered in a man's ear, and Brahmins and householders said, "Why do renunciants also whisper in the ears of householders, and householders also whisper? What is the difference between these two? What is the thought? What is the distinction to be made?" When they ridiculed, the nuns with few desires, when they were scolding, reported to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," did everything up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a nun whispers in a man's ear, she commits a Patayantika offense. Also, "who" refers to Thullananda. "Whispering in the ear" means speaking into the ear. "Committing a Patayantika offense" means the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? If a nun even slightly whispers in a man's ear, she will commit a Patayantika offense in its entirety. The first of the eleven Patayantika offenses is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti (Śrāvastī). Similarly, starting from whispering in the ears of Sbedma and Charka, until the time when the nuns with few desires ridiculed, they reported to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, starting from "This happened,"

From "..." onwards, up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a Bhikshuni whispers in the ear of a Bhikshu, she commits a Patayantika offense. Here, "who" refers to Sbe-ma. "Bhikshu" refers to Char-ka. "Whispering together in the ear" means speaking in the ear. "Committing a Patayantika offense" means the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? As much as a Bhikshuni whispers slightly in the ear of a Bhikshu, she will entirely commit a Patayantika offense. The second of the eleven Patayantika offenses is complete. The origin of the incident is in Shravasti (Jetavana). At that time, Sbom-ga-mo had a quarrel with the Bhikshunis, and the Bhikshunis debated over some disputes. While debating, they accused each other and slandered those Bhikshunis of lower status. At that time, they reported the matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, from "This incident happened..." onwards, up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a Bhikshuni, due to a quarrel, strikes herself, she commits a Patayantika offense. "Who" refers to Sbom-ga-mo. "Striking herself" means accusing herself. "Committing a Patayantika offense" means the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? As much as a Bhikshuni strikes her own body slightly, she will entirely commit a Patayantika offense. The third of the eleven Patayantika offenses is complete. The origin of the incident is in Shravasti (Jetavana). At that time, whatever unpleasantness occurred among the members of the twelve groups, they all swore to renounce the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, the practice of Brahmacharya, the Khenpo, and the Acharya. At that time, those Bhikshunis of lower status slandered them, so they reported the matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, from "This incident happened..." onwards, up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if a Bhikshuni swears to renounce Brahmacharya, she commits a Patayantika offense. "Who" refers to the twelve groups. "Brahmacharya" refers to swearing to renounce the precepts. "Swearing to renounce" means doing so for the sake of making others believe. "Committing a Patayantika offense" means the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense?
