There was a cave from the beginning. Summer is twelve years, the greedy young Bhikshuni. Regarding discipline, do not cut armpit hair and garlic, do not insert two finger joints, and do not slap with the palm of the hand. The story takes place in Shravasti. At that time, there was a terrible famine, and it was difficult for monks to find food, from then on, until someone said, "Someone has a garlic garden." Many vegetables grew there. Then, the Bhikshunis asked that person for vegetables, and he said, "Do as you please, but don't touch those garlic." They picked vegetables every day and then went to the Bhikshuni's summer retreat. Then, the disciplined Bhikshuni asked those Bhikshunis, "Sisters, where did you pick the vegetables?" Then, the plump Bhikshuni also went to the garlic garden, and she pulled out vegetables and garlic together. Then, the owner of the garlic was angered, and he sold the garlic garden to another person. After selling it, he said to those Bhikshunis, "Holy mothers, I have sold it to someone else, ask that person for vegetables." Then, he also sent a guarding child and let him do as he pleased. When those Bhikshunis were picking vegetables, the plump Bhikshuni only pulled out garlic. Then, the child stopped the plump Bhikshuni from pulling garlic, and then the plump Bhikshuni beat the child. Then, the child told his father, therefore, he hid in the garlic that day. Then, the plump Bhikshuni came again, and when she pulled garlic, the child stopped her, until the householder also beat the plump Bhikshuni. Her eye sockets were swollen, and she came to the summer retreat. The Bhikshunis asked her, and she told the situation in detail. Those Bhikshunis with few desires began to blame her, and then reported to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan started from this incident until the establishment of the precepts, and also stipulated that if any Bhikshuni eats garlic, she commits a downfall. Also, if any

Bhikkhuni is Spom dga' mo! The so-called "garlic" is excrement! The so-called "eating" is secretly swallowing! The so-called "offense" is the same as before! Then how does one commit an offense? Bhikkhunis, as long as you eat a little garlic, you will all commit an offense! After establishing the basis for learning in this way, there was a sick bhikkhuni who asked a doctor, and the doctor showed her garlic. She said, "Handsome doctor! I am about to die." The doctor said, "What's wrong?" She said, "The Blessed One has forbidden it." She said, "Your teacher is compassionate, so he will allow it." At that time, the bhikkhunis prayed to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said, "According to the doctor, the patient has no offense." From then on, garlic and ginger, etc., can be used at will. The bhikkhunis had doubts, and in order to dispel all doubts, they asked the Buddha, the Blessed One. Venerable Spom dga' mo was overwhelmed by strong desire and saw the beating for garlic. The Blessed One said, "Bhikkhus! Not only now, but also in the past, because of strong desire, they suffered improperly. Listen." From here to "In the city of Varanasi, there was a king named Brahma-dana." At what time did a thief dig a hole in the king's palace, from here to "forgetting a silver spoon at the entrance of the hole." The thief thought, "I'll go back and get it," from here to "being caught by the king's guards and suffering improperly." Then a god then said in verse: "If overwhelmed by desire, Even accomplishment will be lost, And one will strive for (lost) things, Just like a thief's spoon." Bhikkhus, listen again to the matter of completely losing jewels only because of desire. Bhikkhus, in the past there was a householder in the city of Varanasi, from here to "he had a daughter, and after death he became the Swan King Self-Nature."

...until it was said that he was born as someone who could remember his past lives. Every day he would bring jewels for the sake of that girl. Then the girl thought: I will seize the swan king and also take the jewels. Thinking this, the swan king fled and never returned. Later, a god spoke in verse: Do not be overly attached, for unlawful attachment is sinful. Thinking to seize the swan king, one is completely deprived of all jewels. Monks, what do you think? The thief and the girl at that time were none other than Bhomdagamo (Grossly Joyful Mother) herself. From then on, she became exceedingly attached. Even now, she is exceedingly attached. Therefore, do not be overly attached. Monks, you should train yourselves in this way. The first of the eighth downfall is complete. The setting is in Shravasti. At that time, Bhomdagamo was working on the hair around her genitals. When she was bathing, she showed it to the Brahmin and householder's wives, saying, "Look at this thing that looks like a pancake with sesame seeds sprinkled on it." They said, "Venerable Mother, we do this to please our husbands, what do you need this for? Who do you want to please? This is not appropriate for a renunciant." From then on, the nuns with few desires began to scold her. They reported this to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from the occurrence of this event to the laying down of the precept, made the explanation. Again, if any nun works on the hair around her genitals, she will completely incur a downfall. The "any" refers to Bhomdagamo. "Around the genitals" refers to the secret place. "Working on the hair" means shaving. "Downfall" means the same as before. So how does one incur a downfall? If a nun even slightly works on the hair around her genitals, she will completely incur a downfall. If she does it because of a wound, there is no downfall. The second of the eighth downfall is complete. The setting is in Shravasti. At that time, Bhomdagamo used her hand on her secret place.
