How does one incur a downfall? If a bhikshuni is discussing some Dharma, and someone gets up and leaves without saying a word, if they do not understand the meaning, they commit a misdeed. If they do not understand the sound, but understand the meaning, they commit a downfall. The seventh of the sixth downfall is complete. The story takes place in Shravasti. At that time, Sbom dga' mo and her retinue were disrespectful to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and slandered those bhikshunis who had little learning. At that time, they reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," until the establishment of the training, said, "If one is not respectful, one commits a downfall." The so-called "not respectful" is twofold: disrespect to the Sangha and disrespect to individuals. "Committing a downfall" is as before. How does one incur a downfall? If a householder says to a bhikshuni, "Please accept a dwelling," if she does not accept, she commits a downfall. If she prays with a Dharma-abiding thought, and does not accept it, there is no downfall. Similarly, for "Go!" "Speak!" and so on, one will commit a downfall, this is for the Sangha. If it is an individual, such as an abbess or teacher, who says, "Please accept a dwelling," if she does not accept, she commits a misdeed. If she does not go, she commits a misdeed. If she speaks, she commits a misdeed. If she does not speak, she commits a misdeed. Similarly, all of these will commit a misdeed. If she prays with a Dharma-abiding thought, there is no downfall. The eighth of the sixth downfall is complete. The story takes place in Shravasti. At that time, the Blessed One, relying on the venerable Legs 'ongs, established the training ground for grain wine and processed wine, because they are the root of carelessness and intoxication. At that time, the bhikshuni Sangha thought, "How should we recite these trainings?" Then, the bhikshuni Sangha went to where the Blessed One was, bowed to the Blessed One's feet with their heads, and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, many bhikshunis reported to the Blessed One in this way: "Blessed One, the bhikshunis regarding grain wine...

Furthermore, how should the precept concerning the basis of learning for prepared beverages be observed? Then, the Blessed One praised the nuns for wanting to learn, respecting learning, and reducing the means of learning, and then spoke as follows: Drinking grain wine and prepared wine leads to a downfall. Grain wine is that which is mixed with yeast or with food. Prepared wine is winter wine, brown sugar wine, and that which is mixed with other substances. Drinking means swallowing into the throat. The meaning of downfall is the same as before. So, how does one incur a downfall? If a nun drinks the color of wine, the smell of wine, the taste of wine, or causes others to drink, she incurs a downfall. Drinking prepared wine incurs a downfall. Drinking mixed wine incurs a downfall. Smelling the color of wine incurs a misdeed. Smelling the smell of wine incurs a misdeed. Tasting the taste of wine incurs a misdeed. Eating wine dregs incurs a misdeed. If one has leprosy, and for the sake of treating limb numbness or oral disease, one holds wine in the mouth and keeps it, or uses it for rinsing, there is no downfall. The ninth of the sixth downfall is complete. The story takes place in Shravasti. At that time, the Blessed One, relying on the venerable Ekaja, established the precept of learning for wandering at an improper time. The twelve groups in the village sometimes wandered at the appointed time, and sometimes wandered at an improper time. The nuns said to them: Sisters, didn't the Blessed One establish the precept of learning for wandering at an improper time? They said to the monks: The Blessed One only established the precept for the monks, but not for the nuns. At that time, the nuns reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: Therefore, the nun should know, she should walk. Then, a nun placed her bowl and robes in the house of a householder, and the house of the householder caught fire. The nun heard this and thought: The Blessed One said that when a nun is dwelling, she should know, she should walk. So, until the nun knew, the bowl and robes were burned.
