, without shame, with obstacles, without regret, and among the unordained nuns. One should not dig a hole based on these reasons. If one does, it becomes a serious offense. If two people are sitting on one bed, who should move the bed? The Blessed One said: The younger one. If both are young, if one can endure, then one should move. The fourth of the second downfall ends. The beginning is in Shravasti. When the Blessed One, relying on a monk who came from the south, established the precept of the grass mat, those nuns who were naturally abiding heard it and followed it. The twelve groups spread out the grass mats, put them in place, and did not collect them, nor did they allow others to collect them. Then, the nuns said to the twelve groups: Sisters, has the Blessed One not established a precept? Why do you not remove the grass mats? They said: The establishment of the precept is for the monks, not for the nuns. When those nuns of little understanding were rebuked, the nuns spoke to the monks, and the monks reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, from "this happened" onwards, made the establishment of the precept. Furthermore, any nun who spreads a grass mat or a leaf mat in the monastery of the Sangha, puts it in place, and does not collect it, nor allows others to collect it, and leaves without entrusting it to a nun who is present, such an act, except for a reason, constitutes a downfall. Again, any nun, as mentioned before. "Grass mat" in "grass" refers to the grass itself. "Leaves" refers to the leaves themselves. "Spreading" refers to spreading it oneself. "Putting in place" refers to having others put it in place. "Not collecting" refers to not collecting it oneself. "Not allowing to collect" refers to not allowing others to collect it. "Leaving" refers to leaving the vicinity. What is the vicinity of the mat? The Blessed One said: Forty-nine cubits, benefit.

If it is transformed, it is an offense of downfall. If it is not transformed, it is an offense of wrong-doing. The close relative asked: How does the mat transform? There are two kinds of close relatives: transformation by wind and transformation by insects. What is the transformation by wind? The wind turns the two layers of the mat over, which is an offense of downfall. If it is not turned over, it is an offense of wrong-doing. This is called transformation by wind. What is the transformation by insects? If the insects eat both layers of the mat, eating it is an offense of downfall. If it is not eaten, it is an offense of wrong-doing. When digging a hole in the road, remember to explain it in detail as in the dwelling. The offense of downfall is as mentioned above. So, how does one commit the offense of downfall? If a bhikshuni lays a grass mat or a leaf mat in the monastery of the Sangha, or has it laid, and does not collect it, or does not have it collected, as long as she leaves the vicinity, she will commit the offense of downfall in all cases. Also, if a bhikshuni lays a grass mat or a leaf mat in the monastery of the Sangha without asking permission, or has it laid, and enters the monastery, if she does not maintain mindfulness, she should maintain mindfulness; if she does not calm the mind, she should calm the mind; if she does not liberate the mind, she should liberate the mind, and abide correctly in her heart, if half of the first session has passed, and a transformation has occurred, it is an offense of downfall. If it is not transformed, it is an offense of wrong-doing. From "when the sun sets" to "if it is transformed, it is an offense of downfall. If it is not transformed, it is an offense of wrong-doing," explain in detail as in the dwelling. Those who lay down dwellings on the road and sleep regret it, and the Blessed One taught: It should be eaten. If it is not eaten, it will be a serious offense. Later, when doing painting work in the summer residence, the bhikshunis spread grass, and those who wanted to learn collected the grass and threw it outside the summer residence, and others felt impoverished, and the Blessed One taught: If someone says "lighten it a little," do not throw it away.

The fifth of the second downfall is complete. The basis of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, Thullananda went wandering from the summer dust. Then, the young nuns said to the female preceptors and female teachers: "Venerable mothers, we will also go wandering." They asked: "With whom?" They said: "With Venerable Mother Thullananda." They said: "Do not go!" "Why?" They said: "Thullananda is a practitioner of bad conduct, wandering everywhere." Although they forbade them in that way, they still went wandering with her. When they went wandering, they went to a mountain. Then, those young nuns gathered grass and prepared cushions. When they lay down, Thullananda jumped into the middle, beat, pushed, and stripped off their clothes, saying: "Whoever will be harmed, those people will leave." Then, those nuns returned the next day. Then, the nun Thullananda said to them: "I will prepare medicine for your illness, etc." The young nuns told the female preceptors and female teachers about the situation in detail, until the end. Those nuns with few desires rebuked her. They reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," made the establishment of the training, until the end. Furthermore, if a nun, knowing that other nuns have already been seated, comes after them, and using the excuse of "whoever will be harmed, that person will leave," then forcibly presses down and sits on the seat, she commits a downfall. Furthermore, "nun" refers to Thullananda. "Knowing" means knowing oneself, or being told by others. "Already seated" means already sitting. "Then forcibly presses down" means immediately with force. "Seat" refers to the cushion. "Sits on it" means sitting on it, or lying down. "Whoever will be harmed" refers to the one who cannot bear it. "That person leaves."
