Then Napa Tatul, having put on his skirt in the morning, Gyabu Nor, residing on the top of a mansion, saw the venerable Tatul walking, returning, contracting, stretching, wearing the monastic skirt and robes, and carrying the alms bowl, which was beautiful. Gyabu Nor, upon seeing the venerable Tatul, spoke the verses: 'One with marks, living by the Dharma, such I have often seen here. Peaceful and abiding in peace, such I have not seen.' Until here. Having sent a person, he saw the one with proper conduct, and returning, he said to the youth. Until here. Then, the venerable Gyabu Nor, being urged by the roots of virtue, wishing to see, until becoming truly delighted, sat down and said to him: 'Are you a teacher? Or are you a hearer?' The venerable Tatul, until he spoke the verses: 'What is the difference between the king of mountains, the snowy mountain, and a mustard seed? What is the difference between the ocean and a small amount of water in a cow's footprint? What is the difference between the great web of the sun's rays and a firefly? These are the differences between the treasure of the qualities of a fully enlightened Buddha and a hearer.' Until here. Having come to his two parents, he makes a request. Until here, they did not allow it. Until he fasted for one day and one night. The parents came and said this: 'You do not know suffering, it is difficult to practice pure conduct. It is difficult to be truly happy alone. It is difficult to dwell in dwellings, monasteries, forest edges, and all remote places. You must live with fierce wild animals for as long as you live. You must remain completely separated from the joys and games of people for as long as you live. Son, come here. Sit down and give alms. Also, fully enjoy desires.' Until here. After being allowed, until the strength and power of the body were fully developed. The father wanted Gyabu Nor to renounce, and those who want to renounce, let them also announce it today. Until here.

Then, those who were his attendants thought to themselves: 'This Gyadbu Nor, although very young and desiring happiness, has abandoned the happiness of home and is determined to go forth and become a monk. What should we do?' As they were thinking this, one of them said: 'We too shall go forth!' Thus he spoke. Then, Gyadbu Nor, together with five hundred youths, went to where the venerable Tatul was, and having arrived, bowed his head at Tatul's feet and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, Gyadbu Nor said this to the venerable Tatul: 'Venerable one, please allow me to go forth in the Dharma and Vinaya well-spoken by you, and to receive the full ordination of a Bhikshu. I will practice the pure conduct in your presence.' Then, the venerable Tatul gradually ordained Gyadbu Nor and granted him full ordination. He also recited and meditated on the three pitakas and became an Arhat, free from the desire of the three realms, with a mind that equated rubble and gold, with a state that equated the sky and the palm of the hand, equating sandalwood and chandan, breaking the shell of the egg of ignorance, obtaining wisdom and supernormal powers, and individual self-realization, turning his back on existence and the gains of desire, and reverence, being worshiped by the gods including the powerful ones and their attendants, becoming an object to be remembered, to be spoken of. According to the custom of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, there are two great assemblies: when performing the summer retreat in the middle month of summer, and on the full moon day of the middle month of autumn. Those who, when performing the summer retreat in the middle month of summer, received instructions and subsequent teachings, and having spent the summer retreat in villages, towns, regions, and royal palaces, then come on the full moon day of the middle month of autumn and relate what they have understood, while those who are superior ask questions. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavan, are, so are the great Shravakas. Therefore, the assembly of the venerable Tatul...

Where do they reside, and which nearby places do they reside? Those who have spent the summer retreat in villages, towns, regions, and the king's palace, and those who arrived at the place where the venerable Aśvajit was on the full moon day of the middle autumn month, the venerable Gavāṃpati saw. Having seen those brahmachārins, he welcomed them and made them very happy with frank speech, and took their Dharma robes, staffs, alms bowls, water pots, hats, shoes, and cushions. They also went to the abbot, served him, and spoke of what they had understood. They inquired of their seniors, and Gavāṃpati saw those who were going to the place where the Buddha was, to see the Blessed One and to serve the Blessed One. Having seen them, he went to those who had the same teacher and the same abbot, and said: Where are you going? They said: We have already seen the abbot, and now we are going to see the Buddha, the Blessed One. Then, the venerable Gavāṃpati thought: I have relied on the abbot and the virtuous friend, and I have seen the Dharma body of the Blessed One, but I have not seen the physical body, I will go to the place where the Blessed One is. He thought thus. Having thought thus, Gavāṃpati said to the abbot: Abbot, I have relied on the abbot and the virtuous friend, and I have seen the Dharma body of the Blessed One, but I have not seen the physical body, now I want to see the physical body. Having said these words, Aśvajit said to Gavāṃpati: Son, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, are like the udumbara flower, very difficult to see. Son, go and see the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One. Then, with the permission of the abbot, the venerable Gavāṃpati, together with those who were the same as the abbot Nyu Lang, went to the place where the Blessed One was. At that time, the Blessed One was teaching the Dharma to countless retinues, and the Blessed One saw Gavāṃpati coming from afar.
