开端是在舍卫城。（Sravasti）那时，世尊如是宣说，众比丘尼各自安住。 那些各自安住的比丘尼们，粗欢喜母说道：你们为何各自安住？你们一起和合安住吧！世尊不是说过，确定增长之语，智慧就会增长吗？如此你们和合安住，善法只会增长，要知道不会衰退。当时，比丘尼们对比丘们说道。比丘们也禀告了世尊，世尊开示说：比丘尼，你们应劝诫粗欢喜母。劝诫也应如此做：粗欢喜母，你明知比丘尼们各自安住，那些各自安住者，善法只会增长，不会衰退。却对她们说：你们一起和合安住吧！你们和合安住，善法只会增长，不会衰退，不要说这样的话，直到“其他是愚痴”为止。当时，比丘尼们对比丘们说道。比丘们也禀告了世尊，世尊开示说：比丘尼们应以祈请和四事之业来劝诫粗欢喜母。劝诫也应如此做：从“陈设住处”开始，直到“一位比丘尼祈请后行事”为止。行事也应如此做：圣僧尼众，请听我说。这位粗欢喜母前往各自安住的比丘尼们处，这样说道：比丘尼，你们不要各自安住，你们一起和合安住吧！你们和合安住，善法只会增长，衰退是不会有的，这样说道。对此，如果众多比丘尼劝诫她，就应在那个基础上坚持，直到“其他是愚昧”为止。如果圣僧尼众认为时机成熟且可以容忍，请允许，圣僧尼众对粗欢喜母以祈请和四事之业进行劝诫。

The setting is in Sravasti. At that time, the Blessed One spoke thus, and the nuns dwelt separately. To those dwelling separately, the nun Sthulananda said: Why do you dwell separately? You should dwell together in harmony! Did not the Blessed One say that by establishing words of increase, wisdom will increase? Thus, if you dwell together in harmony, only virtuous qualities will increase, and it should be known that there will be no decline. At that time, the nuns spoke to the monks. The monks also reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: Nuns, you should admonish Sthulananda. The admonishment should be done as follows: Sthulananda, you know that the nuns dwell separately, and that for those dwelling separately, only virtuous qualities will increase, and there will be no decline. Yet, you say to them: You should dwell together in harmony! If you dwell together in harmony, only virtuous qualities will increase, and there will be no decline. Do not say such things, up to "the other is foolishness." At that time, the nuns spoke to the monks. The monks also reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: The nuns should admonish Sthulananda with a motion and four acts. The admonishment should be done as follows: Starting from "having prepared the dwelling place," up to "after one nun has made a motion, the act should be done." The act should be done as follows: Venerable Sangha of nuns, please listen to me. This Sthulananda goes to the nuns who are dwelling separately and says: Nuns, do not dwell separately, you should dwell together in harmony! If you dwell together in harmony, only virtuous qualities will increase, and there will be no decline, she says. Therefore, if many nuns admonish her, they should insist on that basis, up to "the other is ignorance." If the Venerable Sangha of nuns thinks it is timely and tolerable, please allow it, that the Venerable Sangha of nuns admonishes Sthulananda with a motion and four acts.

Thus it was done. This is the request. The procedure is as follows, starting from "The procedure should be done like this," if one exhorts up to three times with the request and the four karmas, from "earnestly the best" to "the other is ignorant." At that time, the nuns spoke to the monks. The monks also requested the Blessed One, and then the Blessed One, from "this occurrence" to "establishing the precepts." Furthermore, if any nun dwells mixed with certain nuns, and knowingly those who are scattered, playful, and engage in crude bodily conduct, yet says to those who dwell separately, "Sisters, do not dwell separately, you should dwell mixed. If you dwell mixed, virtuous qualities will only increase, and will not decrease, it should be known." If she says so, the nuns should say to that nun, "Nun, do not say to those who do not dwell mixed but are scattered, playful, and engage in crude bodily conduct, who dwell separately, 'You should dwell mixed, do not dwell separately.'" To this, the nuns say, "If she abandons that basis, that is good. If she does not abandon it, for the sake of abandoning that basis, she should be properly exhorted twice or three times, she should be properly instructed." Having properly exhorted twice or three times, having properly instructed, if she abandons that basis, that is good. If she does not abandon it, from "three times" onwards, this dharma is also necessarily entailing emergence, a sanghadisesa. Furthermore, any nun, this is discipline delight. Certain nuns, refers to death omens and near death omens. Scattered means frivolous. Playful means playing. Crude bodily conduct means suitable for ridicule. Knowingly means oneself or another having told her. To those who dwell separately means to those who dwell individually. If she says, means to speak.
