Water deity, fire deity, wind deity, land-protecting deity, Holy Born, Beautiful Eyes, son of Vaishravana, Jewel Good, Full Good, Five Joys, Five Takes, and the twenty-eight Yaksha generals, the retinue of five hundred Robber Mothers, monastery deity, forest deity, four-way intersection deity, three-way intersection deity, deity who receives the torma, co-born deity, those who are in accordance with the Dharma, and those deities who always follow, and also hundreds and thousands of deities, to all of them we pray. In the world, there is also the saying that sons and daughters are born because of praying to the deities. Although there is such worldly talk, it is not so. If it were so, like a Chakravartin king, each person would have a thousand sons. However, the birth of sons and daughters occurs because six conditions manifest. What are these six conditions? Both parents have done and accumulated the karma to obtain a son. The son has also done and accumulated the karma to obtain parents. The mother is healthy, fertile, and has menstruation. Both parents engage in intercourse. And a Gandharva is present. The Gandharva also fully obtains either of the two minds, one that follows desire or one that follows anger. These six conditions manifest, and then sons and daughters are born. Therefore, when they are diligently praying to hundreds and thousands of deities, there is a being, said to have great power due to the maturation of merit, who had planted roots of virtue in the past before the Buddhas, is a final existence holder, has practiced, diminished bonds, grasped the assembly of liberation, inclined towards Nirvana, turned away from Samsara, does not seek death and birth in all sentient beings, but holds a final body, dies and transmigrates from the realm of the gods, and enters the womb of that wife. Here, some women with intelligent nature, are very knowledgeable about the five things that should be known: knowing that the man has engaged in intercourse, knowing that the man has stopped engaging in intercourse, knowing the time, knowing the menstruation, knowing that conception has occurred, and

I also know that a being has entered the womb, and I know whether it is a boy or a girl. If it is a boy, it relies and stays on the right side of the womb; if it is a girl, it relies and stays on the left side. Therefore, I know that a being has entered my womb and is relying on the right side, so it will become a boy. Thinking this, she was happy, content, and extremely delighted, and said to her family: 'Prince's son, I have a pleasant message to tell you.' He said: 'Virtuous woman, may you receive good news from gods and humans.' What is the good news? 'Prince, I have conceived a being. Because my right side is uncomfortable, I will effortlessly obtain a son.' Then, a great man belonging to the race of giants, upon hearing this, immediately rejoiced, was content, and was extremely delighted. His face was like a blooming lotus, and he spoke these joyful words: 'Virtuous woman, may your son be born successfully. I will also see my beloved son, and the son I have long desired will be fulfilled as I wished. May he be in harmony with me and not in opposition to me; may he do my work, support me, and use my wealth; may my lineage last long. Moreover, he will be rich, wealthy, enjoy great prosperity, and fully possess a vast and flourishing estate, and my power will not decline. When we die and pass away, may he give alms and perform virtuous deeds for us, and may he follow us wherever we are reborn.' May he be one who brings benefit. Knowing that she was pregnant, from then on, he became even more fond of his wife, more respectful, and more loving, and allowed her to live in the upper palace, unharmed. When it was cold, he provided her with cold necessities; when it was warm, he provided her with warm necessities. The food and drink prescribed by the doctor were neither too cold nor too hot; neither too bitter nor too spicy; neither too salty nor too sour; neither too sweet nor too astringent; neither too oily nor too rough.
