Having virtue, abandon sins. With the exhaustion of afflictions, transcend sorrow. Do not commit any sins, but fully accomplish all virtues. It is essential to subdue one's own mind. This is the teaching of the Buddhas. The discipline of the body is good, the discipline of speech is good, the discipline of the mind is also good. Discipline is good at all times. A fully disciplined monk is completely liberated from all suffering. Guard your speech and subdue your mind well. Do not commit any unwholesome deeds with your body. If you diligently practice these three paths of action, you will attain the path spoken by the sages. Homage to all-seeing Buddha, the crown that protects all, the destroyer of cyclic existence, Vajra Muni, Light Protector, Shakyamuni Buddha, Gautama, the god of gods, the unsurpassed tamer of beings, the protector of the world, the supreme savior, the seven heroic Buddhas, the Pratimoksha of the renowned ones, this is extensively proclaimed. To this, the Buddhas and the Shravakas of the Buddhas also pay homage. By being respectful to this, may you attain the unconditioned state. One should strive and exert oneself, one should enter the Buddha's teachings. Like an elephant destroying a bamboo house, one should crush the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever is diligent and practices this Dharma, having abandoned the cycle of birth, will ultimately end all suffering. The Bhikshuni Vinaya Vibhanga Sutra, complete with the Pratimoksha, is complete. The Kashmiri Abbot Sarvajñadeva and Dharmakara, and the Indian Abbot Vidyakaraprabha, and the translator Bande Palgyi Lhunpo translated it. The Indian Abbot Vidyakaraprabha and the revising translator Bande Palje Tsek corrected and finalized it. The previous revisers, Kunga Shakya Pal and two others, removed the impurities. The third revisers, the wise Abbot and disciples of Narthang, perfectly corrected it on this earth. The mantra of the second revision. Explaining the first of the eight defeatable offenses. In Sanskrit: Bhikṣuṇīvinayavibhaṅgaḥ. In Tibetan: Bhikshuni Vinaya Vibhanga. Volume One. Homage to the All-Knowing One. The king is subdued, born into a royal family, subduing disciples, well able to subdue faults, the Buddha is the master and companion of discipline.

The Dharma of Separation from the Earth. I prostrate to the assembly free from dust. The Pratimoksha of Bhikshunis. The differentiation is very concise, and it is spoken not extensively. Listen to this Vinaya from me. Even in billions of kalpas, it is difficult to hear the Vinaya, and it is difficult to grasp and hold, and it is extremely difficult to practice. The arising of the Buddhas is happiness. Teaching the Dharma is also happiness. The Sangha being in harmony is happiness. The asceticism of those in harmony is happiness. By hearing and seeing the Dharma, delighting in solitude is happiness. To not harm beings in the world, to have perfect discipline is happiness. To be free from worldly desire and to conquer all desires is happiness. Whoever subdues pride, that is supreme happiness. Seeing one who possesses morality is happiness. Seeing one who has heard much is happiness. Seeing the Arhat who is completely liberated from rebirth is happiness. Seeing the noble ones is happiness. Associating with the virtuous ones is happiness. If one does not see the foolish ones, it is always happiness. The river of happiness at the landing place is happiness. A person who is accustomed to the Dharma is happiness. One who has attained wisdom is happiness. The exhaustion of pride is happiness. Holding to asceticism in the world is happiness. Likewise, holding to Brahmanism is happiness. Holding to the far shore in the world is happiness. Likewise, holding to this shore is also happiness. Those who have determined and subdued their senses, growing old in peaceful monasteries, and those who have heard much, dwelling in the forests, the place of those whose youth has passed is happiness. When the Bodhisattva was dwelling in the abode of Tushita, in the city of Nyagrodha, a Brahmin like a great Sala tree, named Nyagrodha, was wealthy, had much wealth, had great enjoyment, had vast and extensive possessions, possessed the wealth of the son of Vaishravana, and lived rivaling the wealth of the son of Vaishravana. He had sixteen villages of slaves, thirty villages on the edge of labor, sixty villages of interest, nine hundred and ninety-nine plows, sixty billion gold, and eighty measures of gold rice that could defeat King Padma the Great. He took a wife from the same lineage, and he played with her, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness. He had no son, nor did he have a daughter.
