At the time when it was said, "The clothes are very wonderful!", the Bhikshunis reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," made it up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if any Bhikshuni allows a man to read a treatise, she commits a Patayantika offense. Among them, "which" refers to: Stulānandā. "Man" refers to: a person. "Treatise" refers to: for what is not a treatise, it is said to be the sound of a treatise. "Allow to read" refers to: allow to recite. "Commits a Patayantika offense" refers to: the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? As long as a Bhikshuni allows a man to read a treatise even slightly, she will commit a Patayantika offense in all cases. The fourth part of the twenty-third Patayantika offense is completed. The beginning is in Shravasti. Then, Stulānandā obtained a lot of alms, and the offerings she obtained were food. Whatever was inferior, such as flour and rice, she sold. Then, at another time, Stulānandā went outside for some needs, and a person buying flour came, and he went to Mahāpajāpatī, and having gone, he said this: Holy mother, how much flour do you have? Mahāpajāpatī said this: Good man, am I surrounded by flour shops? Then, that person said this: Holy mother, the Bhikshunis are selling flour. She said this: Good man, who is that Bhikshuni selling flour? Then, that person said this: It is Stulānandā. Mahāpajāpatī Gautami angrily said this: Such a thing has happened to us too! When the Bhikshunis of few desires were reproaching, they reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," made it up to the establishment of the precepts. Furthermore, if any Bhikshuni sells food, food refers to: flour, etc. "Sells" refers to: taking a price. "Commits a Patayantika offense" refers to: the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? As long as a Bhikshuni sells food even slightly, until

Until it is taken as one's own, it is a minor offense. If taken as one's own, it is a downfall. The summary of the twenty-third verse of the downfall is complete. The verses are: Do not patch the holes in the house, do not use the mat for increase, and do not hang up the thread, do not carry an umbrella and shoes. The story takes place in Shravasti. Then, Spomdagam in the morning put on her skirt, took her bowl and Dharma robes, and went to the house of a householder for alms. Then, she said to the householder's wife: Good name, please give alms. She said: Holy mother, I do not like laziness. Spomdagam said: Did your calf drink all the milk today? She said: Holy mother, I cannot patch the holes in the house. Spomdagam also said: Are you also like a needle, only able to do one job? The householder's wife also said: Holy mother, are you a little proficient in this? Spomdagam also said: What is it that she is not proficient in, in terms of crafts and work? Then, the householder's wife said to Spomdagam: Holy mother, please patch the holes in my house. She said: Who will give me food? The householder's wife said, from this point until "the housekeeper is also poor." Then, Spomdagam put the bowl aside, rolled up her clothes, and cleaned the whole house thoroughly. She wiped it clean, made the bed, wiped the iron utensils, silver utensils, and gold utensils clean, and put them away, making the whole house very beautiful. Then, she took the burden of alms and went to the summer house. Then, the householder saw it and said: Good wife, you have cleaned the house today as if it were new. She said: It was done by the holy mother Spomdagam, not by me. He said: Give her food every day, your house

it will become empty. Then, at another time, the great being Gotami went to that house for alms, and then the wife of the householder said to the great being: Holy mother, please make my house empty, please grant it to me. She said: Sister, I have not even made the house of Suddhodana empty, how can I do it after becoming a renunciate? Even so, sister, are you begging from those who hold vows, not accumulating much non-merit, planting the seeds of becoming a slave? Also, have you seen or heard of any renunciate making a house empty? She said: Yes, Sthulanananda. The great being also said: It is precisely because of this that we have encountered this situation. When those nuns of few desires rebuked this matter, they reported it to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from "This happened" onwards, until the establishment of the precepts, said: If any nun makes a house empty, she commits a Patayantika offense. Again, what is "which"? It is Sthulanananda. What is "making a house empty"? It is arranging one's own house. What is "committing a Patayantika offense"? It is the same as before. So, how does one commit a Patayantika offense? As long as a nun makes a house empty even slightly, she will all commit a Patayantika offense. The first part of the twenty-fourth Patayantika offense ends. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Then, Sthulanananda made the nuns recite the scriptures, and then made the nuns spread out the seats, and ordered: Take them to such and such a place. The nuns said: You are making the nuns spread out the seats and enjoy them, you are accumulating a lot of non-merit. When they rebuked this matter, the nuns reported it to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from "This happened" onwards, until the establishment of the precepts, said: If any nun enjoys the spreading of seats from the nuns, she commits a Patayantika offense. Again, what is "which"?
