The Blessed One commanded, "Having prepared the dwelling place," and then the twenty-year-old young woman should respectfully prostrate herself before the elders, and then, joining her palms together, she should say these words to the Bhikshuni Sangha: "Venerable sisters of the Sangha, please listen to me. I, a twenty-year-old young woman, named so-and-so, with the preceptress named so-and-so, request the vows of abiding in brahmacharya from the Sangha. May the venerable Sangha be compassionate and hold me dear with compassion.
