O noble mothers, only now do we know that this Dharma also belongs to the summary and is included in the summary. After saying this, if the nuns know that the nun has attended two or three Uposathas before, let alone many times, the nuns will admonish her: Sister, do not say that. But they say: What we say is true. Those nuns with few desires then began to rebuke them. The nuns reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "this happened," all the way to establishing the precepts. Furthermore, if a nun says this when reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra every half month: O noble mothers, only now do we know that this Dharma also belongs to the summary and is included in the summary. If the nuns know that she has attended two or three Uposathas before, let alone many times. Because the noble mother does not understand and is not liberated, the offense she has committed, on the basis of being dealt with according to the Dharma, the noble mother you have not discovered, it is not a discovery, but a discovery of fault. Why do you not respectfully listen to the Dharma, not respectfully listen to the Dharma, not attentively listen to the Dharma, not wholeheartedly listen to the Dharma, and not think about listening to the Dharma with all your mind when reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra? She should be rebuked in this way. Her rebuke is that she has committed a transgression. Again, "who" refers to the twelve divisions. "Half month half month" refers to half month half month. "When reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra" refers to the period from the eight root sins to the seven methods of settling disputes. It should be narrated as before, which means narrating in order. A transgression means the same as above. So, how does one commit a transgression? As long as the nun slightly recites the Pratimoksha Sutra every half month, saying: This Dharma also belongs to the summary, saying this will commit a transgression.

It should be done. In short, if it is said to be "gathered," then it is a downfall. If it is not on the basis, and if one leaves the Sangha, then there is no downfall. The third of the seventh downfall is complete. The story begins in Shravasti. At that time, in Shravasti, there lived a naked heretic listener named "Dharma," who was a toothbrush maker. A beggar developed great faith in the Buddha's teachings, and so he had both of their Sanghas (referring to the heretic and the beggar) offer needles and awls. Then, the twelve groups had them make various shapes of ivory, bone, and horn needles and awls. They ate their own food but did the work of others, so it wasn't long before they became poor. Then, the heretics saw the hand-made "Dharma" and said, "When the hand-made 'Dharma' developed great faith in us, he became rich; when he developed great faith in the Shakyaputra bhikshunis, he became poor." The bhikshunis heard these words. After hearing this, they reported it to the Blessed One at that time. Then, the Blessed One, starting from "This happened," until the establishment of the precept, said, "If any bhikshuni has someone make ivory, bone, or horn needles and awls, breaking them will result in a downfall." "Which" refers to the twelve groups. "Ivory" refers to ivory itself. "Bone" refers to bone itself. "Made of horn" refers to horn itself. There are two types of "needles and awls": those with hair and those like dregs. "To do" refers to doing it oneself. "To have someone do" refers to having someone else do it. "To commit a downfall" is the same as before. If you ask, "How does one commit a downfall?" The answer is: As long as a bhikshuni slightly makes ivory, etc., until the horn needle and awl, whether doing it herself or having someone else do it, she will commit a downfall. If it is broken in front of that person, you should ask him, "Did you break one?" If it is broken without asking, then the downfall is not confessed, and the person in whose presence it is broken will also commit a misdeed. The fourth of the seventh downfall is complete. The story begins in Shravasti. At that time, the Blessed One, because of the six groups of bhikshus, forbade beds and

At the time when the Blessed One established the measure of beds as eight fingers of the Sugata, those twelve groups had couches and low couches made that exceeded the measure. The nuns said to them, "Sisters, did the Blessed One not establish a training ground?" They said, "It was made for the monks, but not for the nuns." When those nuns of few desires were reproached, they reported it to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from "This happened" to the establishment of the training, made it so that if a nun had a couch or low couch made for the Sangha, it should be made to the measure of eight fingers of the Sugata, except for the part where the legs are inserted. If she has it made larger than that, she must cut it off and it is a downfall. The Sangha means the Sangha of the Tathagata's female disciples. Nun means the twelve groups. Couch means bedding. Low couch means the low couch itself. Sugata means the teacher. The eight fingers of the Sugata are one cubit of a hand that is in accordance with the measure. "Except for the part where the legs are inserted" means the part that is placed. "Making it larger than that" means making it exceed that. "It is a downfall" means as before. How does one fall into downfall? If a nun makes anything that exceeds the measure of eight fingers of the Sugata, she falls into downfall in all respects. In front of whom does one confess? As before. The fifth of the seventh downfall is complete. The basis of the discussion is in Shravasti (Śrāvastī, ancient Indian city). At the time when the Blessed One commanded, "The dwelling places of the monks and nuns should be arranged," then at another time, the nuns were arranging the dwelling places, and after that the twelve groups spread cottonwood on the couches and low couches of the Sangha. When (the cottonwood) was collected and taken away by others, and those nuns of few desires were reproached, they reported it to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from "Happened
