The perception of being free from attachment, the perception of cessation, the perception of death, the perception of impurity, the perception of being completely swollen, the perception of being completely blue, the perception of being completely rotten, the perception of being completely red, the perception of being completely eaten, the perception of being completely broken, the perception of being completely scattered, the perception of bones, the perception of individually realizing emptiness. She says that from the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana onwards, she has attained the dhyana of the eight liberations. If she speaks the truth, she commits an offense. From "without changing her perception" to "saying this," if many nuns reside in a monastery, and non-humans do not harm them, then if I also reside there, I will not be harmed. If she says this and it is true, she commits an offense. Similarly, in various households, it should also be said to those who have and have not spread out cushions. From "without changing her perception" to "saying this," if a nun, relying on the characteristic of tranquility that she holds, suppresses the worldly mental afflictions, and therefore does not universally engage in desire and hatred, etc., from "there is" to "I also," she commits an offense if she says this. If a nun, without changing her perception, patience, desire, intelligence, thought, and view, says, "There is a nun who can see the gods," but does not say "I," she commits an offense of wrong-doing. Similarly, regarding yakshas, nagas, gandharvas, kinnaras, mahoragas, kumbhandas, pretas, flesh-eaters, and those with decaying bodies, if she does not say "I individually," she commits an offense of wrong-doing. Even regarding the flesh-eater in the broom, if she does not say "I," she commits an offense of wrong-doing. Similarly, this chapter of the precepts should be recited in this order. Furthermore, if a nun, without changing her perception, from "saying this" to "saying this," a nun relying on the characteristic of tranquility that she holds,

By suppressing the afflictions with attention, not being attached to desires, and not universally practicing anger and the like, saying that there is this, if one does not say "I am," one commits an offense. The eighth downfall is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. When the nun Dharma-dana obtained full ordination and saw the truths, she diligently served the nuns in accordance with the Dharma in her own summer retreat. She was faithful, virtuous, and had a good intention, so there was nothing that she did not offer or give away to the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, or the nun friends. Because she offered and gave away in this way, her robes became old and the patches sewn on them fell off. Then the Sangha of nuns thought: This nun Dharma-dana is faithful, virtuous, and has a good intention, so she has abandoned meditation, liberation, samadhi, and absorption, and is diligent in serving the nuns in accordance with the Dharma, and there is nothing that she does not offer or give away, until the patches sewn on have fallen off. We should get a large cloth, and we should give that cloth to Dharma-dana. Then, at another time, they obtained a large cloth, and then they gave that cloth to Dharma-dana. At that time, she requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: Give after requesting. This is how it should be done: After arranging the place, from "Noble nuns, sisters, please listen to me." This nun Dharma-dana is faithful, virtuous, and has a good intention, so there is nothing that she does not offer or give away to the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, or the nun friends. Because she gave away in this way, her five robes became old and the patches sewn on them fell off. If the noble Sangha of nuns thinks it is timely and tolerable, please let the noble Sangha of nuns allow it, and in this way, the noble Sangha of nuns will give the large cloth to Dharma-dana.
