It is a Patayantika offense. Similarly, if one has doubts about ignorance, it is a Patayantika offense. If a bhikshuni sees a fundamental Patayantika offense of another bhikshuni, and she perceives knowledge as ignorance, it is a Dushkrita offense. Similarly, if one has doubts about knowledge, it is a Dushkrita offense. Just as a picture is drawn on cloth, if I know it, and everyone in the world knows it, there is no offense. The seventh Patayantika offense is complete. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in Vaishali, in the multi-storied mansion by the Monkey Tank. At that time, there was a terrible famine, and it was difficult for monks and nuns to find food by begging. Then, many bhikshunis went to a certain region and became impoverished by begging. Then they discussed among themselves: Why don't we proclaim our qualities? They said: Is it true? Is it not true? They said: It is true. They proclaimed their true qualities to each other, and because the world delights in qualities, they were not impoverished by begging. When those bhikshunis traveled and arrived in Vaishali, the bhikshunis who lived there and the resident bhikshunis saw them and said: Those who are endowed with the Buddha, endowed with the Dharma, and endowed with the Sangha have come, welcome! Welcome! Have you fared well on your journey? They said: We have fared well. Venerable ones, have you not been impoverished by begging? They said: We have not. Venerable elders, if these elders were impoverished by begging, what method did you use to avoid being impoverished? They said: We proclaimed our qualities to each other. Are you allowed to speak of superhuman qualities? They said: We spoke of them. Then, the bhikshunis with few desires, at that time, began to reproach and reported it to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan, from the occurrence of this event until the establishment of the training, again, any bhikshuni who speaks of the true superhuman qualities to someone who has not taken full ordination commits a Patayantika offense.

Furthermore, the one called a bhikṣuṇī, that is this Dharma. Regarding the one who has not taken full ordination, it is said that there are two who have taken full ordination. The rest are those who have not taken full ordination. The one called truth is the one that truly exists. The one called a downfall is as previously stated. If asked how one falls into downfall, in the intermediate summary it says: Seeing and attention, solitary places and, in households, spreading a seat, holding one's own characteristics, and showing oneself. If a bhikṣuṇī, without changing her attention, patience, desire, wisdom, discrimination, and view, says, "I see gods," if it is true, she commits a downfall. Similarly, yakṣas, nāgas, gandharvas, non-humans, mahoragas, kumbhāṇḍas, pretas, flesh-eaters, and rākṣasas, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. Similarly, going to see gods and so on, up to the rākṣasas of the body, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. If gods and so on come near her, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. Similarly, hearing the sound of gods and so on, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. She converses with the gods and so on, and makes distinctions, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. Similarly, if a god also converses with her and makes distinctions, if it is true, she commits a downfall. Even a flesh-eater in the broom, if it is true, she commits a misdeed. If a bhikṣuṇī, without changing her attention, patience, desire, wisdom, discrimination, and view, says, "I have attained the perception of impermanence," if it is true, she commits a downfall. Similarly, the perception of suffering in impermanence, the perception of no-self in suffering, the perception of disagreeableness in food, the perception of non-delight in all the world, the perception of fault, the perception of abandonment, the
