Thinking of what has not been heard as heard, and thinking of what has been seen, realized, and discerned as seen, realized, and discerned, but saying, "I have heard but not seen, not realized, not discerned," then everything said is a downfall. Thinking of what has not been realized as realized, thinking of what has been seen as seen, thinking of what has been heard as heard, thinking of what has been discerned as discerned, from "he changed it," but saying, "I have realized but not seen, not heard, not discerned," then everything said will become a downfall. Thinking of what has been discerned as discerned, and what I have seen, what I have heard, what I have realized, from changing thoughts, patience, desires, wisdom, thinking, views, saying, "I have discerned, but not seen, not heard, not realized," then everything said will become a downfall. The first downfall is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, twelve groups of nuns said, "Blind, hunchbacked, stooped, short, drooping lips, big head, crippled hand," women were picking faults and criticizing, using verbal actions to attack each other. They were being picked on and criticized by women in this way, and they felt pain and great displeasure from their verbal actions. They abandoned learning, reading, reciting, yoga, and contemplation, and even a small amount of Dharma-related oil became an obstacle to this Dharma and Vinaya. Those nuns with shallow understanding were scolding, and at that time, the nuns spoke to the monks, and the monks reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said to the nuns, "Nuns, in the past, in a certain region, there was a farmer, and a boy came to him..." until "He made his heart content." He gave his daughter to that boy... until the farmer listened to his wife's advice and did not give her again. He whipped those oxen, and the two oxen asked the boy, and he also spoke. At that time, two of those oxen

From the saying, "Go to the king's palace, let us rule," to the point where it always said, "The horn is broken, the tail is short, it's lame, it can't handle one," and from the saying, "The king and his entourage," to the point where, "Even if the abundant bean field of Mon (Bhutan) was released for seven days without eating, it didn't eat even a little." Bhikshunis, think for a moment, those beings who have taken birth in the animal realm are also constantly used by speaking of human faults. If they think they will be harmed, what need is there to mention those who have become human? Therefore, this previous training should be extensively discussed. Again, the Bhagavan said to the bhikshunis: Bhikshunis, in the past, there was a man who used a cart, and he had two cows named "Joyful Mother" and "Sa Ri Mo," until there were two calves. When the two fought, one's horn was broken. The other's became stiff, and it was called between "Ru Dun" and "Ru Dai." When the cart driver pulled, until "the reins broke." From saying "Joyful Mother" and "Sa Ri," until "receiving double," and saying in verse: When the road is very low, when the load is very heavy, then carry the load, then lead by the nose. Speaking pleasingly, one can also relieve the heavy burden. That's all. Those beings who have taken birth in the animal realm are also spoken of because of human faults. If they think they will be harmed, what need is there to mention those who have become human? Bhikshunis, therefore, if you speak of a woman's faults, you commit a downfall. Whatever speech, words, names, expressions, sounds, definite words, paths of words, sounds of words, expressers, acts of expression, and various expressions of speech are, with the intention of speaking of a woman's faults, are downfalls. So, how does one fall? The intermediate summary is: From lineage, craft, occupation, and signs, there are five categories of downfalls, as well as near afflictions, and finally, reproach.

A bhikkhuni went to a bhikkhuni and said: "Venerable mother, since you have gone forth from a Brahmin woman, what is the use of the practice of a renunciate? What is the use of the practice of Brahma?" If she says this, whether the bhikkhuni approves or not, she commits an offense entailing expiation. A bhikkhuni went to a bhikkhuni and said: "Since you have gone forth from a Kshatriya woman, what is the use to you of the practice of a renunciate or the practice of Brahma?" Whether the bhikkhuni approves or not, she commits an offense entailing expiation. A bhikkhuni went to a bhikkhuni and said: "Since you have gone forth from a Vaishya woman, what is the use to you of the practice of a renunciate or the practice of a Brahmin?" Whether the bhikkhuni approves or not, she commits an offense entailing expiation. A bhikkhuni went to a bhikkhuni and said: "Since you have gone forth from a Shudra woman, what is the use to you of the practice of a renunciate or the practice of Brahma?" Whether the bhikkhuni approves or not, she commits an offense entailing expiation. This is called caste. The description of crafts is as follows: In the intermediate verse: Brahmin caste and Kshatriya caste, Vaishya caste, Shudra caste and artisans, weavers and painters, carpenters, blacksmiths and goldsmiths, shoemakers, potters and barbers, woodworkers, bamboo workers and slave castes. A bhikkhuni went to a bhikkhuni and said: "Since you have gone forth from a Brahmin, look at your own doctrine like this: the behavior and conduct of Brahmins, cleanliness and universal conduct, taking ashes, taking water pots, taking earth, extreme praise, saying 'alas,' saying 'may you be victorious,' universal recitation and recitation, seasonal attendance, certain knowledge, sacrificial knowledge, poetic knowledge, protective knowledge, performing sacrifices, causing others to perform sacrifices, reading."
