If a nun, having arrived in a town, eats alone what has been obtained for the sake of the nuns, it becomes an offense entailing forfeiture. The thirtieth offense entailing forfeiture is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Then, the nun Sthulananda diligently urged for food for the sake of the nun's sangha. Then, the wives of brahmins and householders said to Sthulananda: "Reverend Mother, why don't you make food offerings for the nun's sangha? It's too little like this." After repeatedly urging like this, from cooking alone, to cooking exquisitely, to making eighteen kinds of dishes, and even twenty kinds of dishes, they made and ate them. From "Please rejoice" to "She is a holder of the three pitakas" and so on. Starting from "despising those nuns who know very little," then the Blessed One made the establishment of the training. Furthermore, if a nun, having begged for offerings for the sake of the sangha, partakes of it herself, it is an offense entailing forfeiture. The "nun" refers to Sthulananda. "For the sake of the nun's sangha" refers to the nun's sangha of the Tathagata's disciples. There are two kinds of "offerings": food offerings and clothing offerings. Here, it is understood to refer to food offerings. "Having begged" refers to from others. "Of the mouth" refers to food for the mouth. "Partakes" refers to secretly swallowing. "Offense entailing forfeiture" is as before. So, how does one commit an offense? As soon as a nun slightly puts the offerings of the nun's sangha into her own mouth and swallows, it becomes an offense entailing forfeiture. The thirty-first offense entailing forfeiture is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, the king of the country of Rujuka sent a lava gem as a gift to King Prasenajit, who then gave it to the soldiers of the declining royal family. Those soldiers said: "Dharma-dana is our virtuous friend," and gave the lava gem to him. He also gave the lava gem

Then she hung the Dharma robe on the clothes rack. When Tishya saw her after entering the dwelling, she asked Dharma-giving, "Holy one, whose is this precious silk cotton?" She said, "It is mine." Then Tishya said, "The Blessed One said, 'Merit is what should be done; not doing merit will turn into suffering. In this world and the next, doing merit will bring happiness.' This saying has come to pass. You have become an object of worship for gods and humans because you have done merit." Then Dharma-giving said to Tishya, "If you want it, take it." She said, "This is the defeat of the gods." Having said this, she took the precious silk cotton, divided it, and with her two hands joined, wandered through the streets and alleys. The Brahmins and householders saw her and said, "Whose wife is this? Is she the wife of a wealthy man? The wife of a merchant? Or the wife of a captain?" Others said, "It is Tishya." Look, wise ones! Whether they are the wives of Brahmins or householders, they wear heavy and expensive clothes, and these Shakyaputra renunciates also wear heavy and expensive clothes, what is the difference? What is the thought? What is the distinction? They revile, point fingers, and curse. At that time, the nuns spoke to the monks, and the monks reported to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, from this event onwards, the Buddha, the Blessed One, rebuked Tishya, 'Nun, is it true that you have done such an unseemly thing?' Blessed One, it is true. The Buddha, the Blessed One, said to Tishya, 'Not like a renunciate, not appropriate, not seemly, these are not things that a renunciate should do.' Then the Blessed One rebuked in various ways and commanded both Sanghas, 'Monks, women are like food, even if they temporarily do not have good clothes, it is acceptable, but if they wear good clothes,'

Then what need is there to say? The Blessed One thought that all the faults that had occurred were due to wearing heavy and precious clothes. Then, the Blessed One taught: Again, any bhikshuni who wears heavy and precious clothes commits a nissaggiya pacittiya. Again, the bhikshuni "so-and-so" refers to Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā). "Heavy" refers to winter clothing. "Precious" refers to twenty karshapanas, or twenty-five karshapanas or more. "Wearing" refers to putting on. "Nissaggiya pacittiya" is the same as before. Then, how does one commit a fault? As long as a bhikshuni wears even a little heavy and precious clothing, she commits a nissaggiya pacittiya. The thirty-second nissaggiya pacittiya is complete. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. At that time, the king of the Kalinga region sent a precious fine cloth as a gift to King Prasenajit, who in turn gave it to the impoverished soldiers of the royal family. Those soldiers thought that Dharma-giving was our virtuous friend, so they gave it to Dharma-giving. Dharma-giving accepted it and hung it on the clothesline for Dharma robes. When Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā) entered the residence, she saw it and said: Holy Mother, whose is this fine cloth? Dharma-giving replied: It is mine. Then, Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā) said to Dharma-giving: Because you do good deeds, you will be worshiped by gods and humans, and you have such spring clothing. Dharma-giving replied: If you want it, take it. Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā) said: One should not offend the majesty of the gods. Then, Dharma-giving gave the fine cloth to Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā). When Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā) put it on and entered the street, her body covering appeared to be naked. Then, Brahmins and householders saw Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā) coming from afar and said: Who is this? Is it the daughter of a rich man? Is it the daughter of a merchant? Is it the daughter of a captain? Others said: It is the bhikshuni Tsykga'mo (Utsukadā). Those people saw it and said: Wearing fine cloth like this is not appropriate for bhikshunis.
