应当如此宣说诸位修习调伏之基础：应学不转动身体而前往他家。六众弯曲手臂前往他家，婆罗门和具信施主们便会呵责说：这些圣者如同乞丐、赌徒、以及私生子一般行走，这不合规矩，不要再这样做了！他们则会说：贤者们，这其中有必要之处。圣者们，你们的用意是什么？首先，你们自己是不懂规矩且未经教导的。听到他们大肆呵责，当时众比丘便向世尊禀告，世尊心想：在家人们所说的是真实的。于是开示说：因此，我的声闻弟子们应当如此宣说修习调伏之基础：应学不弯曲手臂而前往他家。六众转动头部前往他家，婆罗门和具信施主们便会呵责说：这些圣者如同大象和被驯服的动物一般行走，这不合规矩，不要再这样做了！他们则会说：贤者们，这其中有必要之处。圣者们，你们的用意是什么？首先，你们自己是不懂规矩且未经教导的。听到他们大肆呵责，当时众比丘便向世尊禀告，世尊心想：在家人们所说的是真实的。于是开示说：因此，我的声闻弟子们应当如此宣说修习调伏之基础：应学不转动头部而前往他家。当六众互相搂着肩膀前往他家时，恰好一人以香和鲜花装饰，视世间如子般行走，六众便会说：这个令人喜爱的近喜之人，视世间如子般行走，难道在我们心中，六众以前从未拿过香和鲜花吗？像这样的人过来，我们让他不高兴。他们便说：就这样做吧。然后他们互相搂着肩膀。

Thus should be proclaimed the basis for training in discipline: One should train to go to another's house without turning the body. The group of six, bending their arms and going to another's house, Brahmins and faithful householders would reproach them, saying: These noble ones walk like beggars, gamblers, and sons of prostitutes. This is not proper, do not do this! They would say: Wise ones, there is a need for this. Noble ones, what is your intention? First of all, you yourselves are ignorant and untrained. Hearing them reproaching greatly, at that time the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One thought: What the householders say is true. Then he taught: Therefore, my disciples should proclaim the basis for training in discipline thus: One should train to go to another's house without bending the arms. The group of six, turning their heads and going to another's house, Brahmins and faithful householders would reproach them, saying: These noble ones walk like elephants and trained animals. This is not proper, do not do this! They would say: Wise ones, there is a need for this. Noble ones, what is your intention? First of all, you yourselves are ignorant and untrained. Hearing them reproaching greatly, at that time the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One thought: What the householders say is true. Then he taught: Therefore, my disciples should proclaim the basis for training in discipline thus: One should train to go to another's house without turning the head. When the group of six, embracing each other's shoulders, went to another's house, just then a person adorned with incense and flowers, regarding the world as a child, was walking, and the group of six would say: This beloved and delightful one, regarding the world as a child, is walking. Has the group of six never held incense and flowers in their hearts before? Let such a one come here, we will make him unhappy. They would say: Let it be so. Then they embraced each other's shoulders.

Then the World Honored One taught: Therefore, my Shravaka disciples should recite the basis of this precept like this: Learn not to shove shoulders and go to other people's homes. The Six Groups of monks went to other people's homes hand in hand. At this time, a person decorated himself with incense and flowers, thinking of treating the world like a son, and walked over. The Six Groups of monks said: Hey, dear, this miser is thinking of treating the world like a son, and is walking over. Does he think that the Six Groups of monks have never held incense and flowers before? Come here, we will make him unhappy. They said: Let's do it like this. Then they held hands with each other, and also shoved each other, pushing him down to the ground. That person said: What wrong have I done to you all? Miser, do you think that the Six Groups of monks have never held incense and flowers before in your heart? That's why you make me unhappy like this. 那时，一个女孩拿着凉扇正在驱赶苍蝇。具寿近喜去她家乞食，然后对她说：‘女孩，去婆罗门那里，告诉他近喜在门口等候。’她说：‘圣者，我在这里驱赶苍蝇，不能去。’他说：‘女孩，如果那样，我暂时守护，你去了告诉他。’她去了之后，近喜连脚一起爬到床上坐着。那个婆罗门出来后，看见近喜连脚一起爬到床上坐着。看见后就说：‘世间的洁净是不同的，你为什么连脚一起爬到这里坐着？’他说：‘婆罗门，比丘享用床，就是对你家七代都有利益。’他听到（婆罗门）谩骂、指责、恶语相向，当时比丘们祈请世尊。世尊心想：‘那个婆罗门正在那个地方谩骂。’于是开示说：‘因此，我的声闻弟子们应该这样宣说学习的根本：未经告知，不得在其他人家里坐在座位上，应当这样学习。’当具寿查卡调伏敦姆时，他铺设了仙人的座位，具寿查卡享用着，享用着离去。过了一段时间，他对敦姆说：‘姐妹，我将去游历。’她说：‘圣者，请快点回来，不要让我感到厌倦。’他说：‘姐妹，没事的，我会那样做的。’他看着她，然后去了胜林。世尊对具寿阿难陀说：‘阿难陀，你去告诉比丘们，世尊将在第七天去游历，你们中谁愿意和世尊一起去游历，就做僧衣的工作吧！’具寿阿难陀从世尊那里听闻后，对比丘们说：‘诸位具寿，世尊将在第七天去游历。

He heard (the Brahmin) scolding, accusing, and speaking ill, and at that time the monks prayed to the World Honored One. The World Honored One thought: 'That Brahmin is scolding in that place.' So he instructed: 'Therefore, my Shravaka disciples should declare the root of learning in this way: without being informed, one should not sit on a seat in another person's house, one should learn in this way.' When the Venerable Charka tamed Tunmu, he laid out the seat of the immortals, and the Venerable Charka enjoyed it, enjoyed it, and left. After some time, he said to Tunmu: 'Sister, I will go traveling.' She said: 'Venerable, please come back quickly, do not make me feel bored.' He said: 'Sister, it's okay, I will do that.' He looked at her and then went to the Jeta Grove. The World Honored One said to the Venerable Ananda: 'Ananda, go and tell the monks that the World Honored One will go traveling on the seventh day, whoever among you is willing to go traveling with the World Honored One, do the work of the Sanghati!' After the Venerable Ananda heard from the World Honored One, he said to the monks: 'Venerable ones, the World Honored One will go traveling on the seventh day.
