When inviting the Blessed One (bcom ldan 'das, Bhagavat, bhagavat, The Blessed One) to allow the monks to borrow umbrellas, the Blessed One replied, "Now is the time." Then, the venerable Shariputra and other monastic communities entered. The Blessed One was dwelling in a place made of matter and manifestly performing alms-seeking. The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, dwell in a place made of matter and manifestly perform alms-seeking for five reasons. What are the five? Namely: wanting to abide correctly within, wanting to teach the Dharma to the gods, wanting to look after the sick, wanting to examine the dwelling place, and wanting to establish the basis of learning for the hearers for the sake of taming. Here, the Blessed One wants to establish the basis of learning for the hearers for the sake of taming, therefore he dwells in a place made of matter and manifestly performs alms-seeking. When the venerable Shariputra entered, the king was sitting with his queen and retinue, and began to retreat for that reason. The king saw him and said, "Venerable Shariputra, please go." Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the monks, "Venerables, there are four words that cannot be violated, namely: the teachings of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, the words of the Arhat monk who has exhausted the defilements, the words of the monastic administrator, and the words of the king, the Kshatriya who has been crowned. Venerables, please be mindful, and we shall enter." Having said that, they entered, and sat down on the seats that had been prepared in front of the monastic community. Then, the Queen Auspicious, realizing that the venerable Shariputra and other monastic communities were comfortably seated, prepared and offered clean and satisfying food and drink with her own hands, and in various ways prepared and offered clean and satisfying food and drink with her own hands. When she realized that the venerable Shariputra and other monastic communities had enjoyed the umbrellas, paid homage, and put down their bowls, she took a very low seat and sat in front of the venerable Shariputra in order to listen to the Dharma. Then, the venerable Shariputra spoke to the Queen Auspicious about the Dharma.

Speech correctly reveals, enables correct understanding, correctly praises, and brings correct joy. In various ways, with Dharma-filled speech, it correctly reveals, enables correct understanding, correctly praises, and brings correct joy; thus, the truth is not seen. The Venerable Shariputra thought: Does this person have roots of virtue? Or not? He saw that they did. Thinking, upon whom does it depend? He saw that it depended on himself. Therefore, as he taught the Dharma and analyzed, the time for the sun to set arrived, and the monks rose from their seats and departed. The Venerable Shariputra thought: Although the Blessed One has not permitted it, there will be a situation where it will be permitted by making this a condition. Thinking this, because he was looking to tame him, he remained there. The Venerable Shariputra understood the mind, latent tendencies, realms, and nature of the nun Shri Devi, and after hearing this, the nun Shri Devi, while sitting on that seat, destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and manifested the fruit of stream-entry. Thus, the Dharma was taught. Having seen the truth, she said: Noble one, relying on the virtuous friend, the Noble Shariputra, what the Noble One has done for me, neither my father nor my mother has done, nor has the king, nor have the gods, nor have my ancestors, nor have the ascetics and Brahmins, nor have the loving ones, friends, and relatives. The ocean of blood and tears has been dried up, I have been delivered from the mountain of bones, the gates of the lower realms have been closed, the gates of higher realms and liberation have been opened, beings have been pulled out of hell, animals, and hungry ghosts, and placed among gods and humans. Samsara has been brought to an end. The twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates, accumulated since beginningless time, have been destroyed by the vajra of wisdom, and the fruit of stream-entry has been obtained. Venerable one, I have realized it. Venerable one.

These are those who have entered (the Buddhist path). Bhikshu, I take refuge in the Bhagavan (Sanskrit, Bhagavan, Bhagavat, the Blessed One), the Dharma, and the Sangha of Bhikshus. Please accept me as a female lay follower (Upasika). From this day forward, until the end of my life, I wholeheartedly and completely take refuge with faith. Then, the Venerable Shariputra settled the Bhikshuni Palden Denpa (Glorious Truth) and left, going to where the Bhagavan was. Having arrived, he bowed to the Bhagavan's feet with his head and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Venerable Shariputra reported the matter in detail to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said: Shariputra, well done, well done! The words of these seven are not to be violated: the words of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One; the words of the Arhat Bhikshu who has exhausted the defilements; the words of the Elder of the Sangha; the words of the Karmadana; the words of the Khenpo; the words of the Acharya; and the words of the King of the royal lineage who has been enthroned. Then, the Bhagavan praised those who desire to learn, respect learning, and strive for learning, and spoke to the Bhikshus words of Dharma that were in accordance with, similar to, and consistent with this. Then he instructed the Bhikshus: Bhikshus, therefore, what was previously prescribed is now permitted. My Shravaka disciples should recite the basis of learning the Vinaya in this way: If any Bhikshu, before dawn or before the light of dawn, collects jewels or things related to jewels without permission, opens the gate of a king or a king of royal lineage who has been enthroned, or crosses the boundary of the city gate, except in special circumstances, he commits a Patayantika offense. Furthermore, "Bhikshu" refers to one who is about to be ordained or someone similar. "Before dawn" means before it becomes dawn. "Dawn" refers to the three dawns: the first dawn, the middle dawn, and the last dawn. Among them, the first dawn appears blue, the middle dawn appears yellow, and the last dawn appears red. Here, it refers to the last dawn. "Not risen" means not appeared.
