Because he was not satisfied and did not abandon it, when his body disintegrated, he was born among the gods without suffering. Then, the son of the gods, Hand-Held Garland, dwelling in the forest, spoke these verses at that time: I, with regard to seeing the Blessed One, and listening to the sacred Dharma and the Sangha, by serving with reverence, even many times, I have never been satisfied and have never abandoned it. I have truly taken up the noble Dharmas. I have strived to subdue miserliness, and because I do not know satisfaction with the Three Jewels, Hand-Held Garland was born in a place without suffering. Then, the son of the gods, Hand-Held Garland, dwelling in the forest, was exceedingly delighted and rejoiced at the words spoken by the Blessed One. He bowed his head at the two feet of the Blessed One, and then circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and then disappeared right there. The monks arose with doubt, and in order to cut off all doubts, they asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: Venerable One, Blessed One, you see that the Yaksha Forest Spirit has separated from defilement, has gone for refuge, and has been placed in the foundations of training. The Blessed One spoke: Monks, now I am free from desire, free from hatred, free from delusion, free from birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and affliction. I am all-knowing, all-seeing, having mastery over all knowledge and knowable things. What is so amazing about this, that I have separated the Yaksha Forest Spirit from defilement, that he has gone for refuge, and has been placed in the foundations of training? In the past, even though I was with desire, with hatred, with delusion, not free from birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and affliction, I also separated the Yaksha Forest Spirit from defilement, caused him to go for refuge, and placed him in the foundations of training. Listen to this. Monks, in the past, in the city of Varanasi (Varanasi, a city in India), there was a caravan leader named Brave, who was wealthy, had much wealth, had great enjoyment, had vast and extensive possessions, possessed the wealth of Vaishravana, and even rivaled Vaishravana in wealth. At that time, another merchant...

Five hundred people together entered the path to the monastery, but that path was threatened and obstructed by a Rakshasa with disheveled hair. So, they started to go before the leader, the brave Donthun. After a while, that Rakshasa with disheveled hair manifested as a Brahmin, standing by the road, and said to the leader, the brave one: Leader, this road is threatened and obstructed by a Rakshasa with disheveled hair, and I also came with great difficulty, so go another way. The leader said: Brahmin, become small from the heart! What use is that to me, I will still go. After saying this, the Rakshasa with disheveled hair became angry and changed his face, stretched out his hands, spread his hair on the ground, his eyes turned red, and widening his eyes, he said: Leader, you dare to oppose me, get out of here! Then the leader, the brave one, seeing that extremely terrifying sight, drew his bowstring to his ear and began to shoot arrows, but all those arrows got caught in the hair. Shooting the bow, it was also caught. Similarly, if wood and clods were thrown, they were also caught in the hair. Then, without hesitation, he surpassed with power, and his whole body was entangled in the hair, and the Rakshasa spoke in verses: Your two hands, two feet, and the fifth, your head, are also entangled, and your body is also entangled in my body, what is there outside that is not entangled? The leader also spoke in verses: My two hands, two feet, and the fifth, my head, are also entangled, and my body is also entangled in your body, outside there is the mind that is not entangled. As long as my secret, mind, and diligence do not disappear, then I will compete with you, be firm, you cannot harm me. The Rakshasa also spoke in verses: Who has such diligence? I salute you, brave one. Because you have such diligence, you can escape from all suffering. I know there is no one like you, brave one. Because of your power, the merchants can go smoothly. Having compassion for all beings, I salute you, leader. Because of your power, the merchants can go peacefully. Thus, at that time, the leader, the brave one, used the Rakshasa
