May you obtain the fruit. Therefore, if you wish, go to your father's house. If you do not wish, stay here, and I will provide you with food and clothing. He thought: If I go back, people will say that because I am a descendant of Laghubandha, they consider me inauspicious and did not take me in. Since I am the son of the Buddha, I should be respected and stay here. So, he stayed there. Laghubandha also had a monastery built with all facilities and offered it to the Blessed One and the Sangha of Hearers, and like this, the elders also added the phrase "The Blessed One dwells in the forest of Laghubandha" to the end of the Sutras. Vinaya-vibhanga, Volume Seventy-five. Then, at another time, Laghubandha was afflicted with illness, suffering and severely ill. Then, Laghubandha passed away from that very illness. As soon as he passed away, he was born in the heaven of Avihas. Then, the son of the gods, Laghubandha, thought: "It is not in accordance with my status to approach the Blessed One in order to serve Him, to behold Him, and to pay homage to Him. I should not serve the Blessed One, but only approach Him in order to behold Him and to pay homage to Him." Then, the son of the gods, Laghubandha, just as a strong man would stretch out or draw back his arm, disappeared from the heaven of Avihas and appeared before the Blessed One. The body of the son of the gods, Laghubandha, became unimpeded and merged into the earth, just as melted butter or sesame oil poured on sand or ashes becomes unimpeded and merges. Then, the Blessed One said to the son of the gods, Laghubandha: "Laghubandha, for a while, manifest a gross body, generate the perception of earth, and keep in mind the sign of sitting." Then, the son of the gods, Laghubandha, manifested a gross body and generated the perception of earth.

Having in mind the sign of the earth rising, he went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Then, the light of the son of the gods, Staff-Pasture, by the power of its color, illuminated all the excellent forests of the pasture with a great light. Having sat down on one side, the Blessed One said to the son of the gods, Staff-Pasture: Son of the gods, do you still practice those dharmas that you used to proclaim and practice when you were a human being? Venerable, when I was a human being, I still practice those dharmas that I used to proclaim and practice. Venerable, those dharmas that I used to proclaim but did not practice when I was a human being, I have now begun to practice. Therefore, the dharma well-spoken by the Blessed One is blissful, and I should proclaim it. Just as when the Blessed One dwells in Jambudvipa, surrounded by the four assemblies of monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen, whatever dharma the Blessed One will teach us, we will listen to it and practice it accordingly. That will be for our long-term benefit, welfare, and happiness, just like that. Venerable, when I am also among the gods of the No-Affliction realm, surrounded by the gods of the No-Affliction realm, son of the gods, Staff-Pasture, whatever dharma you will teach us, we will listen to it and practice it accordingly. That will be for our long-term benefit, welfare, and happiness, that is what I think. Staff, because you were not satisfied with and did not abandon which dharmas, did you die and get reborn in the realm of the No-Affliction gods? Venerable, because I was not satisfied with and did not abandon three dharmas, I died and got reborn in the realm of the No-Affliction gods. What are the three? Venerable, I was not satisfied with and did not abandon looking at the Blessed One, so I died and got reborn in the realm of the No-Affliction gods. Venerable, I was not satisfied with and did not abandon listening to the Dharma, so I died and got reborn in the realm of the No-Affliction gods. Venerable, I was devoted to honoring the Sangha
