Because this drop of blood displeases the yaksha, if this is not stopped, the yaksha will become angry for not eating ghosts, and will cause harm to all of us. We should stop it, and they began to stop it, and he said: Knowledgeable people, you have made laws that either you leave or offer your son. Since this is my son, why stop it? It will not be stopped, let's go. They sat without saying a word. The Blessed One heard the sound of dancing, singing, and music. After hearing it, he said to the yaksha's residence: Village chief, what is this sound of dancing, singing, and music? Venerable, if I am not holy, those sinful dharmas, even if I return again, people will still hold on to it as before, and I don't know what to do. The Blessed One said: Village chief, what is this? He told what had happened, and the Blessed One said: Village chief, today do not take food and drink, nor take cattle. He thought: Even if it comes, I will offer my last food to the Blessed One. That householder took the child out of the chariot and gave it to the yaksha. The yaksha also offered it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One also gave it to the father. Then the father asked: Blessed One, what is the name of this child? The Blessed One said in the tone of a verse: When the child from the yaksha's, hand came into my hand. From my hand to the father's hand, therefore he is called Hand-delivered. Therefore, his name was named Hand-delivered. That householder took him to the pasture, and people saw him and said: Knowledgeable people, things have become like this, and he has come with a drop of blood, without a doubt, this person has angered the yaksha. He said: Knowledgeable people, how could the yaksha be angry? The Blessed One, out of compassion for this child, promised to stay there at night, and the Blessed One subdued him and made him take refuge and observe the precepts. Then, he to the people living in the pasture

of the assembly, please bless them with fearlessness, so that they may be without decline! They were very happy and said: This child subdued the Yaksha demon immediately after birth, therefore this child's name shall be "Hand-holding Demon." Thus, his name was named "Hand-holding Demon." He grew up and became very skilled in letters and alphabets, as well as other arts. When Blue Lotus Girl reached the age of marriage, kings, wealthy people, merchants, captains, Shakyas, Kaudyas, Licchavis, and many others came to ask for her hand. The householder Gadang thought to himself: Many people are asking for Blue Lotus Girl's hand. If I give her to someone, those who do not get her will become my enemies. Thinking this, he sat with his hand on his cheek, worried in his heart. Blue Lotus Girl saw him like this and said: Father, why are you sitting with your hand on your cheek, worried in your heart? He said: Daughter, kings, wealthy people, merchants, captains, Shakyas, Kaudyas, Licchavis, and many others have come to ask for your hand. If I do not give you to some of them, those who do not get you will become my enemies. How can I not sit with my hand on my cheek, worried in my heart? She said: Father, if that is the case, please do not be unhappy. From today, within seven days, Blue Lotus Girl herself will go to find a place to live. He said: Daughter, do so! But first, let's report to the deity. So he went to King Sharpa of Badsai and said: God, from today, within seven days, Blue Lotus Girl herself will go to find a place to live, please allow it, God! The king thought: Who else will she go to find a place to live besides me? So he allowed it. After he allowed it, he ordered the ministers: Wise ones, let the city be made beautiful! And proclaim: From today, seven days from now, Blue Lotus Girl herself will go to find a place to live. The ministers swept the city clean of stones, rubble, and broken tiles, then sprinkled it with sandalwood water, placed containers filled with fragrant incense nearby, and hung silk

Having hung up the canopies, raised the victory banners and flags, and scattered various flowers, making it as delightful as a celestial pleasure garden, they then had it proclaimed, saying: 'O knowledgeable ones, inhabitants of Kaushambi, people around the palace, and those who have come from different places, listen! From today, in seven days, Utpalavarna will choose her own dwelling. Therefore, you should gather according to your respective wealth.' Thus it was proclaimed. Then, when hundreds of thousands of beings had gathered, on the seventh day, Utpalavarna, adorned with all ornaments, riding in a chariot and holding a garland of flowers, came out and began to observe the great multitude of people. Then the king of Vatsa, Sharpa, thought to himself: 'She will surely throw the garland of flowers upon me.' So, he concentrated his mind and sat carefully observing. Utpalavarna looked around at the multitude of people and asked: 'O knowledgeable ones, who are these riding on the backs of elephants?' They replied: 'This is King Rupakarni. This is King Pradyota. This is King Brahma-datta. This is King Sharpa of Vatsa.' Likewise, she asked individually about the wealthy, the merchants, the captains, the Kautiyas, the Shakyas, the Licchavis, and many others. Then she said: 'O knowledgeable ones, where is that Lagna-vrata Drona, who was freed from the yaksha by the Blessed One? Let him come here!' The crowd replied: 'He has not come.' 'In which direction is he?' 'In such and such a place.' She looked in that direction and said: 'That is my household.' Saying this, she threw the garland of flowers. The kings, the wealthy, the merchants, the captains, the Kautiyas, the Shakyas, the Licchavis, and the many others who had gathered turned back and went to their respective homelands. The householder Katyayana, feeling ashamed and uneasy, said to Utpalavarna: 'Daughter, if you have chosen Lagna-vrata, it would be bad if the kings were to harm me because of it, quickly leave!'
