Thus he reported to him: Ascetic, come out! The Blessed One thought: This has been occupied by another, so he came out again. Ascetic, go in! The Blessed One went in to subdue arrogance and pride. The Yaksha Pasture twice also reported to the Blessed One in this way: Ascetic, come out! The Blessed One thought: This has been occupied by another, so he came out again. Ascetic, go in! The Blessed One went in to subdue arrogance and pride. The Yaksha Pasture three times also reported to the Blessed One in this way: Ascetic, come out! The Blessed One thought: This has been occupied by another, so he came out again. Ascetic, go in! The Blessed One went in to subdue arrogance and pride. The Yaksha Pasture again reported to the Blessed One in this way: Ascetic, come out! Then the Blessed One said to the Yaksha Pasture: Village chief, you have invited me into the dwelling three times, now I will not come out. Ascetic, therefore I ask you a question, if answering the question can satisfy me, then that is good. If it cannot satisfy me, I will make you lose your mind, or your heart burst, or you vomit hot blood from your mouth, or I will grab your hands and throw you to the other side of the Ganges River. The Blessed One said: Village chief, in the world including gods, demons, Brahma, ascetics, Brahmins, sentient beings, gods and humans, I have not seen anyone who can make the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha lose his mind, or make his heart burst, or make him vomit hot blood from his mouth, or grab his hands and throw him to the other side of the Ganges River. Village chief, say what you want! Then the Pasture spoke the verses at that time. Intermediate summary: What and how and where, what transcends

What overcomes? What is the supreme treasure of a man here? What, if well used, becomes a pleasant experience? Which is the sweetest of all tastes? How should one live to show the best way to live? The Blessed One said: Faith is the supreme treasure of a man. Good conduct towards the Dharma becomes a pleasant experience. The taste of truth is the sweetest. Living with wisdom shows the best way to live. The Yaksha asked: How does one become famous? How does one become rich in possessions? How does one gain a good reputation? How does one find friends? The Blessed One said: Through morality one becomes famous. Through generosity one becomes rich in possessions. Through truth one gains a good reputation. Through compassion one finds friends. By six intimacy is gained. By six the world is revered. By six the world is subdued. The Yaksha asked: Without the distraction of an umbrella sign, who overcomes these comings? Without aim, without support, who does not sink into the depths? The Blessed One said: Always possessing morality in every way, well-established in equanimity and possessing wisdom, with mind inwardly focused and possessing mindfulness, one overcomes these very difficult comings. Devoid of attachment to the perception of desire, with the aggregates of form completely ceased, that one, without aim, without support, does not sink into the depths. The Yaksha asked: By what does one overcome light? By what does one overcome the ocean? By what does one abandon suffering? By what does one become completely pure? The Blessed One said: By faith one overcomes light. By diligence one overcomes the ocean. By effort one abandons suffering. By wisdom one becomes completely pure. Is there any other excellent Dharma besides truth, taming, and giving? You should ask each of the ascetics and Brahmins separately. The Yaksha asked: To each of the ascetics and Brahmins, why

I ask you thus. Like this, you, great hero, have well explained this Dharma. Alas, Yaksha Pongbupa, who indicated the unsurpassed teacher, the Buddha, to me? I repay your kindness. From here, I will go from village to village, from house to house, and practice while prostrating to the perfect enlightenment and the good Dharma nature of the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One said to the Yaksha who lived in the pasture: Good-faced one, because you gave food to the two monks Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, you should have been born among the thirty-three gods, but you made a wrong aspiration, so you were born among the evil Yakshas. Now you have become fierce and cruel, your hands are covered with blood, you are attached to decay and extreme decay, you take the lives of others, and you live by killing the lives of others. After dying from here, what will your destination become? What will your next life become? What will your future life become? He pleaded: Blessed One, please tell me what I should do. Good-faced one, come here! Take refuge in me and take the precepts, and give fearlessness to the people living in the pasture. Venerable one, I go for refuge to the Blessed One, and I take the precepts, and from now on I will give fearlessness to the people living in the pasture. He took refuge in the Blessed One and took the precepts. After taking the precepts, he spoke this verse: Alas, Teacher, for my benefit, you have come truthfully and compassionately. Today I have fully understood the meaning of the future life. Then, that householder filled a cart with six oxen with food, put the child in the cart, and went to the Yaksha with the sound of dancing, singing, and music. Some Brahmins and householders heard it and said: Wise ones, what is this sound of dancing, singing, and music? Some said: Don't you know? This is the blood drop being taken to the Yaksha. Many ordinary people gathered and said: Wise ones, the blood
