The son of Ei and the great son of Maudgalyayana, while wandering around Magadha, heard that they had gone to the pastoral settlement. Having heard this, he thought to himself: King Bimbisara is never satisfied with merit, he gives alms and accumulates merit, why should I not give alms and not accumulate merit? Knowing this, he went to where the venerable Shariputra and the great son of Maudgalyayana were, and after arriving, he bowed his head to their feet and sat in front to listen to the Dharma. After the two of them taught him the Dharma, he invited them to alms and gave them food. That householder was invited by the herders to borrow a place to stay, and without listening to the teachings, he went alone to offer a pond. The crowd of people living in the pastoral settlement also signaled, took up weapons and went there. They entered the pond as if they were treating the herders, and said, "Wash your hair," poured boiling alkaline water on their heads, tears flowed, and they could hardly see anything. Then, they began to throw chakras, single-pointed vajras, giant arrows, and single-pointed weapons at him, preparing to kill him. He said: Wise ones, what wrong have I done to you? They said: You enjoyed our marriages first, and later we enjoyed them. He said: You yourselves have created this non-Dharma, what is my fault in this? Do not kill me, let me go! They argued like this and began to kill him. As he was about to die and faced with death, he generated Bodhicitta and made a vow: By the root of merit of offering alms to the venerable Shariputra and the great son of Maudgalyayana, these two who are worshiped by gods and humans, may I be born wherever I am killed by these people. Because according to the Dharma, at the time of writing death, making an evil vow is quickly fulfilled, so he made an evil vow, died, and when the time came, he was reborn among the evil Yakshas. After that, because he wanted to live, he went to the great King Vaishravana.

Said, "Forgiving one, please grant me a dwelling!" He said, "The pasture is your dwelling, go to that pasture!" He came to the pasture and unleashed a plague, causing many people to die, numbering in the thousands. The people living in the pasture gathered the diviners and asked, "Wise ones, why has such a plague occurred? What is the cause of this?" They said, "Wise ones, the pasture deity you killed uttered a perverse curse and was born among the malevolent yakshas, and thus he has unleashed such a plague." They began to prepare carts to flee. But the yaksha also manifested himself in a terrible and extremely frightening form, standing in front of the fleeing people of the pasture, and said, "Where are you going now? Today I will eat all of you!" They were all terrified and said, "Village chief, please forgive us who have done evil!" He said, "I will forgive you with a vow, if you offer me a thousand people every day, I will forgive you." They said, "Village chief, if you are offered a thousand people every day, this pasture will soon disappear, please let us go now and forgive us who prostrate!" He said, "Wise ones, I have long wished, 'May this pasture disappear!' However, if you offer me five hundred people every day, I will forgive you." They pleaded again in the same way, and he said to offer two hundred and fifty or one hundred people. They said, "Village chief, even so, we will perish, what is the use of so many? We will offer you every day a cart filled with food pulled by six oxen, and a servant to lead it, please forgive us!" He said, "That is acceptable, but your offerings must not be accompanied by weeping, but by offerings of dance, song, and the sound of cymbals." They also agreed. Then all the people living in the pasture gathered together to discuss

Composed. The wise ones said, "If the Yaksha (གནོད་སྦྱིན་) treats us like this temporarily, how should we deal with this matter?" Some said, "We should offer in turns." Some said, "If we say who's turn it is, it will cause quarrels. We should do it like this: write the household names on slips of paper and put them in an earthenware pot. Whoever's household name is drawn, that person should go. He himself should go, or send his son, but he cannot fail to send meat. If someone is busy and cannot attend the lottery, if it falls on his house, the household name slip will be hung at his door. At that time, there was a householder living in a nomadic area who had no son. He had been praying for a long time, 'Alas, I should have a son!' Coincidentally, his wife became pregnant. When the wife was about to give birth, the householder went out for some work. On that day, the household name slip for offering Torma (གཏོར་མ་) to the Yaksha was drawn, and the people appointed to make the offering hung his household name slip on the door. Just then, his wife gave birth to a boy. When the householder returned, as soon as he entered the house, he saw the household name slip, and he felt pain and discomfort. After entering the house, he remained silent. The wife said to him, "Lord, be happy! You have a son!" Even so, he remained silent. The wife said this to him three times, but he remained silent. Then the wife said again, "Lord, you have been praying for a long time, 'Alas, I should have a son!' Now that you have a son, why do you remain silent? Be happy!" He said, "Good wife, if this child is born, it is as if I am not born." "Lord, what's wrong?" "Good wife, the household name slip has come for offering Torma to the Yaksha." "Lord, if that is the case, it is better to send your son. If we meet again, you will have another son." "Good wife, this is a drop of blood, how can we send him away?" "Lord, isn't it stipulated that in the rules established by the community, either you go yourself or you send your son?"
