If one possesses which motivating factors, then a son of good family or a daughter of good family who possesses faith, whether walking, dwelling, sleeping, or not sleeping, constantly and without interruption increases merit, and constantly generates merit, this is the non-material basis for meritorious action, the sixth that is extremely great in fruit, great in benefit, great in appearance, and great in increase. Furthermore, a son of good family or a daughter of good family who possesses faith, having heard the Dharma from the Tathagata or the Tathagata's Shravaka, takes refuge in the Buddha, takes refuge in the Dharma, takes refuge in the Sangha, and undertakes the foundations of training, this is, The motivating factor is that a son of good family or a daughter of good family who possesses faith, whether walking, dwelling, sleeping, or not sleeping, constantly and without interruption increases merit, and constantly generates merit, this is the non-material basis for meritorious action, the seventh that is extremely great in fruit, great in benefit, great in appearance, and great in increase. The motivating factor is that a son of good family or a daughter of good family who possesses these seven non-material bases for meritorious action, their merit or the fruit of merit, or the ripening of the fruit of merit, cannot be measured, because the merit is abundant, it is counted as a great mass of merit. The motivating factor is, for example, where the five great rivers, namely the Ganges, the Yamuna, the Sarayu, the Aciravati, and the Mahi, flow together without distinction, you cannot measure how much water there is, how many water pots, how many hundreds of water pots, how many thousands of water pots, how many millions of water pots there are. Because there is much water, it is counted as a great mass of water. The motivating factor is, similarly, the merit of a son of good family or a daughter of good family who possesses these seven non-material bases for meritorious action, or the fruit of merit, or the ripening of the fruit of merit, cannot be measured.

It is finished. Like this, because of the abundance of merit, it is counted among the numbers called the great accumulation of merit. The Blessed One spoke thus, the Sugata spoke thus, and then the Teacher spoke again thus: The place relied upon by humans and mountain beasts, where many rivers flow. The supreme, auspicious, pure, and pleasant-shored sea, like flowing into the ocean, the source of jewels. Likewise, the stream of merit also at all times, the benefactor gives clothes, food, and drink, beds, cushions, and mats are also given to people. Just like rivers flowing into the sea. After the Blessed One spoke thus, the venerable Mahakautthitya rejoiced at what the Blessed One had said and praised it greatly. Then, the householder Ghoshavin was faithful, but his retinue was not, and he thought: If my retinue is not faithful, how will my monastery be used? He became more and more doubtful, so he disguised himself inconspicuously, wearing a low skirt, and went to the monastery, prostrated to the stupa with the tone of verses, and began to enter the monastery. An old man was sitting at the door, and he prostrated at his feet and said: Venerable, this monastery is captivating and has become a staircase to the heavenly realms, whose is it? He said: It is the householder Ghoshavin's. Venerable, is this a monastery or a place of poverty? Good sir, what is a monastery like? And what is a place of poverty like? Venerable, where there are abundant supplies is a monastery, and where there are no supplies is a place of poverty. Good sir, this is a place of poverty. How did it become so? The householder is faithful, but his retinue is not, so they cannot provide as needed. Like this, that householder has a daughter named 'Ma Magubye', who is faithful, good, and has a virtuous mind. However, she has no power in that house. If she had power, she would provide the monks with the necessities, and this place would become a monastery. The householder Ghoshavin thought: Even now, while I am still alive, the situation of the monks in my monastery is this

Thinking about what would happen if I died, she prostrated at the feet of that monk. Returning to her home, she said to her family: Whoever among you is willing to serve the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, take a lot. At that time, someone named "Joy" was carrying a water pot to fetch water, and she found a piece of cloth there. The Blessed One also went in that direction to benefit her, and she began to observe the Blessed One. The Blessed One miraculously showed her the seam of the monastic robe torn open. She thought: If the Blessed One allows me to take this cloth, I will offer it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One, knowing her thoughts, said: Joy, if you are willing to give it away, offer it. She developed great faith in the Blessed One and offered it respectfully. The Blessed One mended the torn seam of the monastic robe right in front of her, and the color became harmonious. She developed faith, touched the feet of the Blessed One, and prayed: May I not become a slave because of this virtue, may I not become poor. After saying this, she filled the water pot with water and went home. The householder "Delight" distributed lots to the family, and Joy asked: What is this, householder? Delight said: Joy, whoever among you is willing to serve the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, take a lot, and I have great wealth. She quickly put down the water pot, picked up the lot, and said: I am willing to serve the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, I will serve the Blessed One and the Sangha of Shravakas with all necessities, please do not mind. So she began to offer all necessities to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, and served them respectfully. The householder Delight again concealed his form, wearing a low skirt, went to the temple, and spoke verses.
