If I become king, I myself will be a youth. What is wrong with that? The two of them said: God, that is not proper, because the youth and the ministers, and the people of the court and the people of the country, have offered the kingdom to you with a thousand empty palms, how can you return to the position of youth? To give up the whole country and live in the abominable position of a youth is not right. For example, it is like a person getting off an elephant's back and riding on a horse, getting off a horse and riding in a chariot, and getting off a chariot and walking only on two feet. It is the same to offer the kingdom to you and then return to the position of youth. The two of them deceived him, and he said: Then what is appropriate here? How should it be done? The two of them said: Please kill that god. If you cannot kill him, then join with the flawed ministers and kill the god himself. After they said that, it happened that way, and they declined, and for a moment they sat without saying anything, and their heart filled with tears was as dejected as compassion, and their bound minds said: How can two wise men kill their father? The two of them said: God, have you not heard? Father or brother, or even a son born from oneself, if they enter the enemy's camp, they should be made into an increasing mound of earth. And again: God, have you not heard? Whoever has a thousand sons, and all are on one boat, there an enemy arises, for his sake they should be destroyed. God, have you not heard others? For the sake of a house, give up one; for the sake of a village, give up a house; for the sake of a country, give up a village; for the sake of oneself, give up land. Have you not heard that either? God, there is nothing to consider about this, he should be killed, please kill him. If you delay with this god, and those youths, ministers, courtiers, and people of the country who are attached to the god become disturbed, they will surely harm the god. Relying on desires creates sinful deeds.

Because there was no one to do anything, he agreed to do so. Then, those two guilty ministers arose with joy, satisfaction, and supreme joy, and said to those executioners: Wise ones, kill the old king today, and we will divide the enjoyments among you. Because all the people of the palace retinue and the villagers were attached to that king, no one was willing to kill him. Even though the two of them tried to please them three times with wealth, gold, and the giving of villages, etc., no joy arose. Then, the two of them, completely enveloped in anger, commanded the guards of the bracelets: Wise ones, today imprison those people together with their sons, wives, relatives, friends, and assemblies of relatives. Having heard this, they became frightened and said: Please do not accept the wrath of the gods. We are servants who obey orders. Saying this, they hid their sharp swords under their armpits and departed. The venerable Utrayana, after the three months of summer had passed, was possessed of robes, possessed of completed robes, and taking his bowl and robes, went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and said this to the Blessed One: Venerable one, I intend to travel to the city of Ghosha. The Blessed One said: Utrayana, go, and you should keep in mind to take karma as your own. Then, the venerable Utrayana, bowing his head at the feet of the Blessed One, departed from the presence of the Blessed One. Then, the venerable Utrayana, after that very night had passed, in the morning put on his lower garment, and taking his bowl and robes, entered Rajagriha for alms. After going for alms in Rajagriha, having done the business of eating, and returning from the afternoon alms, having arranged his dwelling place as usual, and taking his bowl and robes, he departed, driven by the power of karma. Karma leads far away, from afar karma leads, where karmas ripen, there karma leads completely. That city

Then he went to a place called Yera Sound, and as he was finally walking along, there was a cliff on the road, where he began to beg for alms, and from there he continued to beg and went on. He met those executioners, and they saw him. He also recognized them, and promised to spend the night with them in a garden, and then he began to ask them: 'Do the people of Yera Sound have hair knots, possess retinues and assemblies, are strong and free from illness? Do they have no oppression from enemies, and do they allow their kingdom to be governed by Dharma?' They replied: 'O god, the people of Yera Sound have hair knots, possess retinues and assemblies, are strong but not happy. They have no oppression from enemies, but the kingdom is always governed unlawfully.' 'O noble one, please show the sacred object or manifest sign that is in accordance with your conduct.' 'What is the sign of peace? Today you will see it closely.' The Venerable Utrayana said: 'Sages, do you not like coming here today?' They said: 'O god, we do not like it.' He said: 'Sages, if so, then one should turn back.' They spoke in verses: 'Brave man, where are you going again? We do not like that you are still alive. We, who are sent by the evil king, are here to kill you.' The Venerable Utrayana said: 'Sages, are you the executioners who are going to kill me?' 'O god, we are the executioners who are going to kill you.' The Venerable Utrayana thought: 'The Blessed One once said to me, go to Utrayana, you must remember to take possession of the work, this must be what he meant. Samsara is evil in every way, meaningless, and of the nature of destruction.' Thinking this, he said to them: 'Good people, I have not yet achieved the purpose for which I renounced, please wait a moment until I have accomplished my own affairs.' They consulted each other and said: 'O god, let it be so.' Then, the Venerable Utrayana leaned against a tree,
